pls tell us something more about the pashtuns in herat.I mean the pashtu speaking pashtuns not the barakzais or popalzais.kakars originally from ghore yes.

There is a very large large number of Pashtuns in Herat.
Inside the city are Alizai,Barakzai,Popalzai,Tareen,Noorzai they all speak Dari as their first language but most of them are fluent in Pashtu.
Guzara : which is mostly Pashutn and the biggest tribes are Noorzai and Alizai and the sad part is that they have problems with each other which often turns out very bad, Majority speak Dari as their first language but are good at Pashtu too.
Pashtun Zarghon : majority pashtun, the biggest tribe is Achakzai, I am not sure if they speak Pashtu or Dari.
Gulraan: Pashtun certainly make up about 50 percent or more of this district, the biggest tribe their is Saakzais, I dont know if they speak Pashtu or Dari.
Obeh: I am not sure about the percentage of Pashuns there but when I was there the Pashtuns I met spoke Pashtu.
Shindand: Majority Pashtun and they speak Pashtu, most of them are fluent in Dari too.
Torghondi: Pashtuns I met from torghondi speak Pashtu and are good in Dari too.
Karokh: Also has a large Pashtun population whom speak both Pashtu and Dari.

There are other districts that I dont remember the name and they all have considerable Pashtun population specially in the border with Iran.

Accross the border in iran there are pashtuns living in south khurasan province bordering afghanistan.They are more then one hundered thousands and iranian citizens.Most likely they came there during the time of shah mahmood hotak or that might be an afghan land under iran.
There are pashtuns in shindand area and also in pashtun zarghon know that brother but right in the westren part of herat province there is large papulation pashtuns but not sure they still speak pashtu.
