  • Muslim culture is based on Semitic, that might be some explanation to that, but also don't under estimate the Turkic influence. Ultimately, this is Pashtun culture, there are elements that probably mirror, and were borrowed, but essentially, it is it's own tribal structure that is quite dynamic and different from everything.

            Islam is a religion not a culture. culture and religion cannot be fused. that's like saying pashtun culture is based of Muslim culture because they are Muslim. Stupid logic.

              Alexander conquered India and found them "passive" under the Buddhism-Hinduism influence. Conquering is loosely referenced in your proposal of history. Afghans accepted Islam more than being conquered, Alexander on the other hand....Ashokas influence is a result of passive Hindu-Buddhism conversion as the ancient religions have similarities in their teaching, he did not conquer, just a the Chinese spread Buddhism today in Mongolia.

                What are you talking about? Alexander did infact invade India. He invaded the Punjab areas of India and his army could have invaded the while subcontinent if they were not tired. Alexander's army told him they were tired and wanted to go back home to their families. And Ashoka seems to be a myth since no ruler from India ruled all of it as India was ruled by small different kingdoms. It wasn't until 1947 that India became one and that was because of the British.

                  Sure they can be fused. Cultural practices are routinely amalgamated with Islamic practices. Even local art and design is mixed with Muslim culture.

                    I can believe that Abrahamic faiths derived their patriarchal societies from semi nomadic tribes in Eurasia, it's been well attested in some books, like "Grandpa was a Deity" supposedly.

                      A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

                      For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

                      The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                        Central/south asian = 46%
                        Arabian = 0.3%
                        East Asian = 0.8%
                        South indian = 24%

                        West Asian/Middle eastern= 10.5%
                        Siberian= 2.9%
                        Southern European = 0.4%

                        ^ so basically majority of the pashtun genes are central/south asian at 46%, which is today's afghanistan and pakistan, this makes sense and indicates that majority of pashtun genes are native, however as you can see there is large south indian, middle eastern and even northern european component in them, so this indicates that some of these people's ancestors mixed with different groups too at some time. Overall, all populations of the world are pretty mixed.

                        for example look at these other samples from the spreadsheet

                        Iranians:

                        Central/south asian = 31.5%
                        Arabian = 8.2%
                        East Asian = 0.6%
                        South indian = 3.4%
                        Northern European = 5.2%
                        West Asian/Middle eastern= 40.9%
                        Southern European = 4.1%

                        Sindhis

                        Central/south asian = 53.2%
                        west african: 2.4%
                        Arabian = 0.8%
                        East Asian = 0.4%
                        South indian = 27.5%
                        Northern European = 6.2%
                        West Asian/Middle eastern= 4.1%
                        Southern European = 1.5%

                        Balochis:

                        Central/south asian = 70%
                        Arabian = 3.1%
                        East Asian = 0.4%
                        South indian = 9.5%
                        Northern European = 1.8%
                        West Asian/Middle eastern= 6.3%
                        Southern European = 4.1%

                        Jats and Rajputs punjabis are very similar to sindhis/ pashtuns

                        ^ according to the population studied in these charts, sindhis and Burushos seem to be the closest the Peshwari pashtuns, but again it might a bit different depending on different tribes, thats why i agree with a idea to study the head/leaders of each tribe in FATA to indicate (overall) pashtun results
                        The tests were taken in Peshawar. It's an urban centre, and people there are heavily intermixed. The data isn't that reliable, it probably just gives us a slight hint as to the general markers prevalent in Pashtuns. I'm sure if say the data was taken in a Pashtun village, the results would be much different.

                        • ^ jatt apache sahab seems to be copying the exact same thing I posted almost 2 years back, that data is old and new research has comeout since then

                          Those samples were from Kurram valley, which is not far from Peshawar. I really dont know who was tested, which tribe etc... this is the reason the data is indeed not 100% reliable. I find it stupid when so called scientists are taking samples, they dont even have the manners to publish which tribes were tested. But when it came to punjabi samples they divided all the groups like Jatts, Rajputs, Brahimins, Dalits etc... not sure why were they so careless with Pashtun samples.

                          Anyways in 2010 a genetic study of afghan pashtuns indeed showed them as more west eurasian compared with the Kurram valley samples. I think in general Pashtuns will be anywhere from 15-20% ASI, depending on their locations, which means they are probably similar to their immediate neighbors like Tajiks, Kalash, Nuristanis and even Baloch, because all of them generally are showing similar genetics in the south central asian regions

                          It doesn't take a genius to say that Punjabis and Sindhis etc.. are obviously more south asian genetically then those groups I mentioned

                          But desperate people like like Jatt Apache Sahab are so ashamed of their south asianess, they would do anything to be related to outsiders

                          • Pashtuns are not Macedonian, even if there is Macedonian influence it's very very little. I dislike how people love to use the whole green eyes/blonde hair in Pashtuns as a means to back up their argument of the whole Alexander the Great influence. Blonde hair/blue eyes doesn't just run in Pashtuns it runs in many Punjabi's as well, Rajputs, etc. Does that mean that they've have Macedonian influence? No.

                                Its not common (hair or eyes) in punjabis or indians because of the UV radiation and people working in fields long hours outside in sun for 1000s of years and probably doing that work whilst wearing very little in those old times.
