Pashtuns didn't just appear in the region, they migrated from the North with the Tajiks and Nooristan people in their own respected times.

Plate 15. ASIATIC ALPINES
The Alpine race is as important in the mountain zone from Syria to the Pamirs as it is in the corresponding portion of Europe. Both anthropometrically and morphologi- cally, the European and Asiatic Alpines are essentially identical. Furthermore, when not too strongly altered by mixture with other stocks, the Asiatic Alpines tend to an in- termediate pigment condition comparable to that of their European counterparts
Plate 18. LONG-FACED MEDITERRANEANS OF THE WESTERN ASIATIC HIGHLANDS: THE IRANO-AFGHAN RACE
The individuals shown in the preceding plate might be generally classified within the Irano-Afghan branch of the Mediterranean race, the main diagnostic features of which are an extreme vault length, face height, and nose height. In many instances ex- treme nasal convexity and prominence, and in others an extremely high cranial vault are additional features.
..Afridi from eastern Afghanistan. Its high, narrow cranial vault, in combination with a great facial and nasal height, and its general cast of cranial features makes this type nearly identical with that of the Corded people who invaded Europe from the east toward the beginning of the third millennium B.C..

Beautiful family pure not toxic.

The Corded Ware culture (ca. 2900–2450/2350 cal. BCE),
alternatively characterized as the Battle Axe culture or Single Grave culture, is an enormous European archaeological horizon that begins in the late Neolithic (Stone Age), flourishes through the Copper Age and culminates in the early Bronze Age.
Corded Ware culture is associated with some of the Indo-European family of languages by many scholars and believed to be related to the Catacomb culture.
Around 2400 BCE the people of the Corded Ware replaced their predecessors and expanded to Danubian and Nordic areas of western Germany. One related branch invaded Denmark and southern Sweden, while the mid-Danubian basin, though showing more continuity, shows also clear traits of new Indo-European elites (Vučedol culture).
It encompassed most of continental northern Europe from the Rhine River on the west, to the Volga River in the east, including most of modern-day Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Slovakia, north-western Romania, northern Ukraine, the European part of Russia, as well as coastal Norway and the southern portions of Sweden and Finland.
Language
In the 19th century the Corded Ware culture was favoured by some authors as the Urheimat (original homeland) of the speakers of the Proto-Indo-European language, a theory that has been discarded by modern science in favor of the Kurgan hypothesis or the Renfrew NDT.

The studies above show's the correlation of Kurgan and Eurasian peoples and cultures. Early migrations and attributes shared in both.Quod Erat Demonstrandum

Pashtuns and all other people like Tajiks, Baloch etc.. overall are more West asian/Caucasian then northern european, genetics has shown that. Most of their ancestors probably came from west of Caspian sea area rather northern Europe.
But there is a northern euro component also there, ranging from 12-20% in different people in the region

Anyway, so pashtuns are related to tajiks and baloch , right ?
That is what I said to roadrunner.

There is nothing to prove, this is a proven fact. also even north west indian groups like jatts/rajputs have significant west asian ancestry with minor northern european components.Originally posted by Bharati View PostProof ? Source ?

Of course groups like Tajiks, Pashtuns, Baloch etc.. have higher of these west asian/west eurasian components since they are west of indian subcontinent and closer to those areas
The thing is (west asians) arrived in central/south asia very long ago, some people say even Indus civilization was founded by them, not sure how true that is though. The minor northern euro component probably arrived with the Scythians or even indo aryansLast edited by Karachi; 03-04-2012, 04:51 AM.

So why did you get so uptight with the photos of "Jat" Sikhs that I posted to reply to Apollyn? With those photos I was not trying to say all Jats look like that or that all Jats have a light complexion.
The other thing is why do you get uptight if anyone posts photos of Pashtuns with a brown colour? Do you only want "European" looking Pashtuns to be shown?
Look at the photos in Apollyn's last post. The people in the middle photo look very different to those in the top and bottom photo and none of them (any of the 3 photos) look particularly Greek or Macedonian either - to me.
In Apollyn's 3 photos, in my opinion, they all look more like some people that you can also see in Indic groups (ignoring the lighter complexion) that you would find say in Kashmir or Sindh or Punjab (and even other parts of north India) than looking like Greeks or Macedonians. Also the looks in the 1st and 3rd photo, I consider it more of a Slavic look. Not all "Slavic" people but some Slavic appearances that I have seen amongst some Ukrainians and Russians.

It's not a question of " light complexion " of course
It's a question of features
Infact, the majority of jats I know have west eurasian features..

first of all I didn't get up tight or what ever, but the point is you and bharti were misrepresenting both pashtuns and jatts. By posting the darkest of pashtuns and lightest most caucasian looking jatts, what were you trying to achieve? that jatts are more caucasian then pashtuns? This is obviously not true, like I said in my last post that Iranic groups like Tajik, Pashtuns, baloch etc,, are more west eurasian/west asian then Jatts or any other indic group, this is also true for their features. People east of indus river have clearly more south asian native dna in them, this is why there is a certian (indic) look in all of them which pashtuns and others lack. but yes that doesn't mean jatts or any other groups in the punjab lack the west asian component. Like I said west asian is a very old and significant component in the NW south asians, in fact most of south asians, as it is found through out south asiaOriginally posted by Wahe Guru View PostI agree with nearly all of what you have written here.

They look more west eurasian then other south asians, but that doesn't mean they lack the native south asian dna. As much jatts try to say they are from outside, they have clearly mixed a lot with native south asian dnaOriginally posted by Bharati View PostIndeed brother,

Indeed, I can't deny that jatts have native indic DNAOriginally posted by Karachi View PostThey look more west eurasian then other south asians, but that doesn't mean they lack the native south asian dna. But they have a very few in the contrary of biharis gujaratis tamils bengalis....
I think that jatts have 70-75% west eurasian
Pashtuns have 80-85% west eurasian
We can clearly see that on the features of jatts and pashtuns ( more ).

^ Jatts have 70% ancestry on average which could be considered west asian/west eurasian, while average punjabies have around 60%
but I personally think the 80-85% in pashtuns doesn't represent all of pashtuns, because those samples were only taken from one area (kurram valley) I personally think the pashtuns living in the northern areas will have even more west eurasian/west asian dna in them, perhaps reaching up to 90% in some cases
Also like I said nearly every one in south asia has amounts of west asian/west eurasian ancestry. The groups you are mentioning like bengalis or Tamils, they also have atleast 30-50% of their ancestry from outside. Just go check Harrapa ancestry project. The point again is the the west asian component is very old in south asia, that's why it found in higher amounts in all of south asia, indians overall are dark caucasian people, if for example they were lacking the west asian component, mostly likely they would resemble australian Australoid or negrito of AndamanLast edited by Karachi; 03-04-2012, 03:09 PM.
