I am not from Afghanistan but how about its possession of the great ruins of Balkh. Or the story of the Nuristani people, that's very unique

Along with the "Kafiristanis" of Norhtern Pakistan, they were people who resisted Islam well into the 19th century and kept their own distinct culture. Which can be seen now amonst the Kalasha people of North Pakistan, but in the late 19th century, i think it was the afghan emperor Abdur Rahman Khan who went and forcibly converted them all to Islam and so it got its name Nuristan: the Land of Light. They have a very distinct language and identity even now: an anthropological wonder.

Afghanistan is too special to just put into simple words.
