  • Wardaks and Tajaks in Attok (Punjab)

There are Wardaks and Tajaks in Attok...probably in a cluster of neighbouring villages prominent of which are Waisa and Rango. The two person I have heard.read about are Asif Fasihuddin Wardak, a politician and the other Navin Tajak a tv drama artist.

Does any body have any info about Wardaks and Tajaks of Attock?

I know there are Farsi speakers in Abbotabad/Attock since I happen to have relatives who are. Some of my brother-in-law's extended family are mixed Tajik/Pashtoon and have settled in Attock/Rawalpindi for example. Many of them do speak Pashto or Dari alongside Hindko and Urdu. I should check out the village names, I guess.

Yes, I hear there is a community of Wardags in Chhachh, Attock. There is apparently an area called Wardag in Nartopa, Chhachh. There are also Wardags in Charsadda, Mardan, Dir and various other areas of Pakistan.

There are some Wardags (or descendants of) living in various Indian cities as well like Hyderbad, Mumbai and most likey Delhi. However the vast majority of Wardags live, naturally in Wardag. Although many refugees are also Wardags, you can find us around the world from New York to California to London to Pekhawar .

              Anyway back to your question,
After some searching I found that Asif Fasihuddin Wardak and his family have high ranks in Pakistan but cannot speak a single word of pakhto and live in Rawalpindi. I don't know if that is true or not as I have no idea of who he is & my knowledge of Pakistan is virtually nil. But I will ask around and see if I can find out anything.

He obviously means Tajik, phonetically we say Tojuk.

I think there is one village called Tajik ... I heard Pashtuns and Tajaks of Attok still have retained Pashto (am not sure of Dari though )...

Actually, Pashtun influence has loomed large in Attok---The first notable Pashtun that established influence in Attok/Chach was Khadi Khan, a Yousafzai stalwart who founded the famous town Shadi Khan on GT Road at Attok (was deformed from Khadi Khan into Shadi Khan)...This pobably happened many centuries back. Since then, many Pashtuns have settled in different parts of Attok.

Nope, at 0:55 it says Manchester Wholesale and the description as well.

I agree with Dariush, most of those guys don't look very Wardag to me, probably some sort of distant descendants.
