Researches have shown not only a relationship between Afghan (Pashtun) and Jewish (Ashkenazi, Sephardic, Arab Jewish) DNA but that Afghan DNA is second closest (68.1) to Ashkenazi DNA after Irani and Iraqi Jews (67.9).[64][65] Though most of these researches have used Yusufzai, Afridi or Khattak samples from Pakistan and India, inferences can be drawn about Afghan DNA in general.
Rare genetic disease among populations show a common origin. In this regard, the rare disease Inclusion body myopathy has been found among Afghans (Pashtuns), Iranian Jews and Ashkenazi Jews. This indicates a common founder mutation.[66][67][68][69]
"Inclusion body myopathy a disease in which muscular weakness appears is a rare genetic disorder from a founder mutation which is localized to Jewish populations. While most known patients are Iranian Jews, a few originate from Afghans (Pashtuns) from Afghanistan. The high frequency is due to a founder mutation [GNE, M712T]"

Another genetic disease common to both Pashtuns and Jews is the disease Glucose 6 Phosphate Dehydrogenase deficiency.[70][71]
"G6PDH is common to Jews from Kurdistan, Iraq, Iran, Yemen and in Afghans /Pashtuns."

    Variations from Jewish groups

The variation seen between Afghans and other Jewish groups (Iranian, Arab, Iraqi Jews and Ashkenazi) is related to the mingling of Afghan DNA with local non semitic groups of peoples.[75]
    Genetics & Anthropology

Research into human DNA is a new way to explore historical movements of populations by studying their genetic make-up.
Various Genetic studies have been carried out by different sources. The latest studies indicate a multi match for certain haplotypes that include in particular haplogroups J2, G1, G2c and subtypes.
The Gs include G1, G2c (Y-STR haplotype 731),2,3,5 from various studies:

Some genetic genealogy studies also indicate a minor contribution to the Pashtun DNA from Iranian, Arab, Turkish and Greek peoples.[80]
The theory of Pashtun descent from Israelites is currently being studied by Navras Aafreedi and Shahnaz Ali of India.[81][82]
"Pathans, or Pashtuns, are the only people in the world whose probable descent from the lost tribes of Israel finds mention in a number of texts from the 10th century to the present day, written by Jewish, Christian and Muslim scholars alike, both religious as well as secularists."[83]
—Navras Aafreedi, academic at the University of Lucknow and member of the Afridis
Israel is planning to fund this rare genetic study to determine whether there is a link between the lost tribes of Israel and the Pashtuns.
"Of all the groups, there is more convincing evidence about the Pashtuns than anybody else, but the Pashtuns are the ones who would reject Israel most ferociously. That is the sweet irony."[83]
—Shalva Weil, anthropologist and senior researcher at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Mitochondrial DNA analysis on a 2500 year-old skeleton excavated from a Scythian kurgan at the Kizil site in the Altai Republic casts doubt on the theory of Pashtun descent from Scythians. Results showed the remains to be a member of haplogroup N1a.[84] This haplogroup is spread widely across Eurasia and northeast Africa in low frequencies but is not currently identified in Pashtuns. Precise matches to the Scythian skeleton are found in Yemen, Armenia, Egypt, Germany, and Estonia. Additionally:
    • Mitochondrial DNA extracted from two Scytho-Siberian skeletons (Altai Republic (Russia) dating back 2,500 years) show characteristics "of mixed Euro-Mongoloid origin". ("European" in this context means Western Eurasian).[85] One of the individuals was found to carry the F2a maternal lineage, and the other the D lineage, both of which are characteristic of East Eurasian populations.[86]
    • Maternal genetic analysis (of Saka period male and female skeletal remains, Beral site Kazakhstan) determined an HV1 mitochondrial sequence in the male (most frequent in European populations) and the HV1 sequence of the female to be of an Asian origin. It was suggested that the female may have derived from either mtDNA X or D.[87]
    • Y-Chromosome DNA testing (ancient Scythian skeletons dated to the 5th century BCE, Sebÿstei site) exhibited the R1a1 haplogroup. A search in the YHRD database as well as the researching scientists' own database revealed close matches were found for a haplotype found at high frequency in Altaians & among eastern Europeans and Central Anatolia. Other haplotype matches closely matched types in Poland, Germany, Anatolia, Armenia, Nepal and India.[88]

From these and many other studies it is thus conclusive that genetic makeup of Scythians and Scythian hybrids does not match Pasthun DNA.[citation needed]
I believe we are a lost tribe of israel

Well we are all one big family, but the assumption is certainly entertaining as some Pashtuns in Pakistan and Afghanistan are very fond of soodkhori.

        1. Hating jews because of the state of Israel is irrational. The state of Israel is not only not jewish, but anti jewish. The founders of the state did their best to disconnect anything religious from the jews, and partially succeded, especially with jews from maroco, yeman, iraq and other muslim places, who were all religious before coming to anti-jewish "Israell". A lot of us, the religious jews, love the land of israel and the israely people, but that doesn't mean we love the anti jewish state the governs this land.

The jewish religion and culture are the only things that were common, through thousands of years, between jews in spain, franch, poland, russia, iraq, levanon, yenan, Ethiopia, tunis and the rest of the world, and the state of israel did and does its best to destroy the religioun and jewish colture.

Through all years, when a jew married a non jewish person, that was the end of his membership in the jewish community. The state of israel, on the other hand, lets any non jewish person come as long as he or she has a jewish grandfather or is ilegitimately married to a jew.

The state disrespects Shabath, teaches in schools insane theories about the bible which have been completely contradicted, just because they mess up the faith in the non educated children, and does a lot more against the jewish religion.

The people who founded this state explicitly ignored all the tora-based legal system, by which the jews lived for thousands of years (and previously the 10 tribes), and took instead the lawyer based system from the english. The tora's system is based on the highest jewish value of justice, while this idiotic lawyer based one gives rich people a greate advantage over the regular people, because they can get the best lawyers and buy their victory in trials, and thus this system supports the complete opposite of justice. This might be the most anti-jewish thing in this state. And, by the way, the english used to hang people for stealing bred (same punishment as for murderers) not so long ago, in what was called the bloody code, so these are not the people to copy legal systems from.

Hope you now understand that the state of israel is not jewish. The leaders are jewish by blood, but they don't live like ones, and the state doesn't have blood, so there is almost nothing jewish about it.

        2. I don't know where people get the impression that israel controls the US. The government might want to be so powerful, but it isn't. The US has its history of killing almost all natives, being racists against africans, throwing nuclear missles at japan and a lot of other bad stuff, before the state of israel was formed. On the other hand, israel can kill all phalestines in a few minutes, and although most of them would happily kill all jews, israel does its best not to kill them. This includes tipping off civilians that their street is about to be bombed because terrorists throw missles from there. But the same people that throw the missiles at israeli civilians and kindergardens, don't let those phalestinian civilians escape, forcing them to die so they could make israel look bad and make some more money for the billioner Haled Mashaal.

The state of israel also gives shelter to people from sudan while some of them, on a daily basis, rape our children. So the state of israel did and does a lot of non jewish stuff, including stuff stuff too, but it isn't the US. Be sure that if the palestines would throw missles at US kindergardens, by now there would be no Palestinians left. And if the phalestinias could hold themselves for a while from terrorizing us, they would probably have their own country by now.

And i don't know what politician is behind the lie that israel controls the US, but it is surely not true and not even closed to that. Although Israel might want it to be true. One thing is sure, Israel has no interest in creating wars in afganistan. It is the interest of other countries that make a profit from that, not israel. If and israel controled the US, it would send them against Hizbala, not afganistan and not iraq. And if Iran wouldn't make threats against Israel, Israel wouldn't have anything against them neither.

        3. If Pashtuns are benei israel, and I'm starting to believe you are, then this is your land just as it is the land of the jews. But there is no way to prove it, so to come here and get citizenship pashtuns would have to convert religioun. I don't think it is something that any pashtun seriously considers right now, but it is surely funny in a sad way that some russian, which isn't jewish at low, not by blood and not by religioun, can come here because of his sinner grandfather or because he married a jew, while real israelis like pashtuns can't. And even funnier in a more depressing way when that person draws nazi symbols on synagogs.

Some israelis hate palestians, which bomb our children and wish our deaths. No one hate pashtuns. And if you are our brothers, children of israel, the people of god, then 3 times a day we pray that God will guard, give you peace and blessing, justice and take care of all your needs etc, and bring you back heere to your land of israel that was promised to you ancestera. And if the state of israel was jewish and your are really the tribes of israel, then israel should attack the US if they attack you.

        4. The Islam is the closest religioun to jewdaism. Only one god and praying only to him. For centuries, the jews in europe suffered a lot of hatred and got killed often, while jews in muslim countries all around the world lived relatively in peace. You can even find Rabbis saying it is much better living with muslims than in europe.

The eruopeans (english, spanish, portuguese, russians, etc) had an excuse to hate us - the jewish religion. About a hundred years ago, when a lot of them left Christianity, the excuse was over. That didn't stop the hatred but made it worst, when Hitler, maha ismo, did what he did. The polands and hungarians and a lot of other nations were happy to help. The latvians and lithuanians murdered almost all jews before the germans even came, including almost all of my wife's family. The muslims, on the other hand, were much more kind all these years. Too bad that now there is all this hatred between us and muslims. And it's not so surprising that we don't hear so often as before about hatred in europe after they killed almost everyone, and not a lot of people are there to hate.

        5. Every nation may have its way of working god. If you are israelis, then you ran into the sea with us, stood near mount Sinai and recieved the tora through Prophet Moses. I think that most or almost all of muslims rules fit the jewish religioun, but you have more obligations, like shabath, tfilin, pesach, sukot, shavuot, yom kipur, rosh hashana, mezuza, shema israel, etc. Hope you'll soon realize that, because unlike other muslims, for you, when being only muslims you miss some of your obligations. And as i understand it, the Islam recognizes prophet moses as a true profet and the commadments given to us by him. So according to the islam itself, you have those obligations, don't you? When Moses told us about shabath he specifically said it must be kept forever. Israelies all over the world came back to our land with the knowledge of shabath. Even the ethyopian israelies, which are decendents of the tribe of Dan and weren't part of the Yuhuda kindom, kept shabath in ethyopia, and you must do so too if you are israelies.

        6. Mix marriges is a new phenomenon. The US rate of mix marriges doesn't represent the history well. Less than 200 years ago, if any male jew married a non jew, that was the end of him as jew. No one spoke to him and he wasn't a part of the community anymore. And his children are no longer jewish. This is still the case amongst the religious jews. What gets non jews confused is the present of non religious jews, and reformists. Most of the reformists call themselves jews but they aren't. And the non religious jews who live outside Israel would not be able to marry a religious jew in a few years. What saves the israely non religious jews is just statistics, because most of the people in israel are jews. And still, most of the jews in israel, even the non religious ones, would not marry a non jews, and it can't be done in israel anyway.

And what i said about these 200 hundred years that the notion of non religious jew was created is only true to europe. It is much less years of existence for non religious jews from islamic countries.

So we are jews. Decendents of Israel, Izhak and Avraham. Whoever thinks otherwise doesn't know jewish history. It is true we accepted over the years people who converted their religioun, but saying they are a minority is an understatement. We know who were our big rabies in each year of the last 3000 thousand years, since Avraham. This tradition is common to jews all over the world, including Yeman jews who were seperated more than 2300 years ago from the rest, and before that seperation we were all living in Israel together (and until a few years before that seperation, apperently, we also lived along side our brothers - the Pashtuns).

It is a fact that a jew from Yeman is much closer to a jew fron russia than just 2 random peope from russia and yeman. And how would someone eho thinks Ashkenazim are not mainly Israeli decendents explain the fact that pressian jews are so close to Ashkenazim genetically? And the pressian jews were in pressia for about 2300 years. And the jews from Yeman were there even longer. And there was constant contact between jewish communities all over the world. Book written in Iraq were cited in spain. Book from maroco cited in Lithuania. Rabbies from all over the world were meeting each other, especially in Israel, constantly. We did accept non jewish who converted their religioun, but they are the minority.

Allah huwa akbar. And he'll bring salvation and piece to all his people soon.

Nice long rant but i am sorry to tell you it holds no avail. Pashtuns are not Jews and they do not support Israel. If you want, you can always claim their neighbours the Bukharan Jews who are actually related to you.

Either way i am getting vibes your a sock-puppet account of a former member on here.

It might be that Mahmood al-Yemeni guy.

a: Long rant using heavy language but this time some basic English mistakes maybe purposefully.

              b: Obsession with Pashtun ethno-genesis.

Before he used to go on about Pashtuns starting off as nomads, then Ghilzais were Turks, then Pashtuns are just a relatively recently created nation, then as "Herat" insulting Pashtuns and advocating the break up of Afghanistan and Tajik separatism.

He has posed as a "reformist Muslim" and also as an Islamophobic atheist Tajik separatist.

So being some Jew who can't speak English properly might be his new incarnation.

              Also:

I think it might be him as he might just be bored so trying out something new, this time rather than an Arab nationalist, or an Islamophobic Tajik separatist, a Jewish nationalist.
I believe you may be correct my dear friend. What a sad pathetic individual.

It's most likely to be Mahmoud al-Yemeni a.k.a. ScimitarXEdge a.k.a RevolutionThroughReason a.k.a Herat a.k.a Brown Skinned Savage.

This new troll account uses good English:

insane theories about the bible which have been completely contradicted
The people who founded this state explicitly ignored all the tora-based legal system
Hope you'll soon realize that, because unlike other muslims, for you, when being only muslims you miss some of your obligations
When Moses told us about shabath he specifically said it must be kept forever.
It's easier to spell many of these words the normal way than to be creative and spend time deliberately thinking of ways of altering their spelling i.e. using the default norm is easier than creating some other form.

He then however tries to pretend his English is poor by purposefully misspelling these words.

                  "Pressians"
                  (Persians)

                  "Yeman "
                  (Yemen, his homeland)

                  "phalestinias"
                  (Palestinians)

However though he "misspells" a simple word such as Yemen (his homeland), he can miraculously spell more difficult words such as

                  "salvation"
                  "knowledge"
                  "seperation"
                  "tradition"

                  etc.

So it's almost certainly Mahmoud al-Yemeni.

However he just wasted his time because everyone now (including silent Jewish lurkers) know it is this Yemeni with an identity-crisis.

So no one will take his nonsense seriously.

Being decendents of Yaakov and supporting Israel are two different things. The first is not a matter of choice.

And I don't know who this guy you're speaking of is. But anyone can see that my spelling mistakes have nothing to do with the points I was making.

                      Welcome to the forum JewOnOneFoot,

Muslims and Jews have previously always had a positive relationship. When Ferdinand was persecuting Jews (and Muslims) in the Inquisition, Bayezid (Ottoman Caliph) sent ships to Spain for many expelled Jews and Muslims. Bayezid then said that Ferdinand was a fool because he has given me his jewels (he was emphasizing the fact that Jews were intellectual). When Jews were being rounded up in Europe by the Nazis, many Bosnian Muslims hid Jews.

The Palestinian statehood is the main obstacle that prevents Muslims and Jews from returning back to their past cordial ties. Palestinians were not responsible for the genocide of Jews in Europe, yet they have been made to pay for this Western crime. The conditions of Palestinians is one of the worst in the world, and it has existed for more than 60 years.

I have done lot of research on this. People get confused and cant differentiate between Bani Israel and Jews. Jews are followers of a religion, its not a race, however Bani Israel is the race. Just like Arab is a race and you can have a Muslim or Christian within Arabs. From Yaqoob (AS) (Jacob) came 12 sons. We all know Yusuf (AS) (Joseph) and his brothers story. 12 sons = 12 tribes. And thats where the Bani Israel came from. Jews as we see today, and this is the very important point, are only from two tribes of Bani Israel . The rest, the ten tribes were NOT Jewish or got anything to do with the Jews. Pakhtoons are the Bani Israel as mentioned in Quran. They are the ones who comprised of the ten tribes and they are ones who carved the northern kingdom Israel and called themselves Isrealites while the southern kingdom, the Kingdom of Judah comprised of the rest of the tribes, and here in Judah, the Jews came from.

The two were sworn enemies and fought for nearly a century until both were destroyed by outside forces and taken captive. In the case of Pakhtoon (the Israelities) by Assyrians who later moved them to Indus plains. and the Jews by the Babylonians. So when Pakhtoon find it repugnant to be classed as Jews, there is a history to it being sworn enemies of Judah even in ancient times. Pakhtoon have keep their bloodline from Jacob intact, we all know Pakthoon culture, while Jews unfortunately have lost their Bani Israel gene. Infact most Jews today are from Khazar lineage. And that is where the confusion arise about the gene and "scientific" proof of Pakhtoons being bani Isreal as people are compare them to "Khazar" gene which is not Bani Israel to being with. One more thing, the Pakhtoon revered this person called Qais Abdur Rasheed. According to them, he was the first among them to accept Islam and did bait on Prophet (PBUH) hands. He is the one who later turned all of them to Islam. And guess what, Qais was the 35th descendant of Talut (mentioned in Quran in reference to David and Goliath) also known in western world as King Saul.

For me the most astonishing thing is, that the ancient Hebrew, according to the research done by Aristotle, were a tribe of Indus, who were displaced by the "Noah Deluge". Quran also mentioned that ancestors of Bani Isreal were with Noah. Which resolved the puzzle about those ancient Indus cities/settlements buried ten feet under sand all over Pakistan and surrounding areas. So yeah, we Pakistanis are basically the original nation of Noah. And as for Pakhtoons, they just came back to the lands from where their ancient ancestors took the Journey towards holy lands.
