No. They are no ''Parsiwans'', tough beeing Tajikfied. They are descandants of an Uzbek tribe with their leader Barcca who became pashtunized through intermarriages with other nomadic tribes of the region (south-east of Kabul valley)->confederacy->Pashtun confederacy-> common tribal and nomadic traditions and interests. If you go today f.ex. for Kuchis, you will even find Jats (gypsies) and Sindhi nomads among them. That´s normal and was always attested. The earliest Turks in our region were Turko-Iranian confederacies. The Yafalis, the Gokturks ... all of them.

Calling him shai is wrong. He was the bravest man in the royals.may allah bless his soil
He was raised by his Kurdish Shia Alevit mother. She formed his charakter and loyality to the court and the non-Pashtun families and taught him Alevism (the Sufi branch). He just once claimed beeing a Sunni when he, ironically with the help of Shia Qazalbashs and Pashtun fanatics, attacked Hazaras in their country. This was just a claim to legitimate his attack on them. Read some real historical books. You just talk out of your emotions or because you hate Shias while there are many Shias among Pashtuns who use Taqqia (Muhammadzais, Afridis, Barakzais, Hotaks, Khowstwals (Ismaelis) ...).

Although Durranis of farah and herat speak farsi, you can be sure that they are 100% supporters of the Afghan cause. Some of em are quite ashamed of the fact that they can't speak pashto but they are not anti pashtun at all and the good thing is that their loyalty lies with Afghanistan and not Iran and tajikistan.
Good point, except for Herati Pashtuns. They were always loyal to the Darizubans and Ismael Khan. Majority of them are against the Pashtuns of eastern Afghanistan and Kandahar-Quetta region. Have you ever talked to some of them? In Tehran there is a Pashtun community and already depashtunized. They even support the destruction of Afghanistan. These kind are the real enemies of Afghanistan. The Heratis at least support Afghanistan but these hate really Afghanistan and it´s basics. In Farah, many so called Pashtuns are actually Tajiks who just adoptet the -zai suffix for their family´s name. You can recognize them mostly that they have very good connections to NA and many times supported Ismael Khan against a Pashtun tribal leader from Hilmand. I´ve forgotten his name. They had several battles in Farah, Sistan and even in Herat. The only real Pashtuns in Farah and Herat would be those who can trace their origine to the Sadozai and Popalzai Pashtuns but even they deny mostly their Pashtun origine. Not sure why. Possibly for the same reason why many non-Pashtuns did it from the 50s to the day of Soviet´s intervene.

          1. Bachem u have to provide proof. There re intellectuals here who require emperical evidence for claims. The bangash, the turis etc are Shia tribes. I've never heard of Shia hotaks amongst others u have claimed

          2. The herati Pashtuns supported amanullah shindandi when he almost kicked Ismail khan out several years back because of ismael khans policies towards Pashtuns

All the kings of Afghanistan, their fathers and mothers were Pashtun, and they were mostly always from Kandahar.

ANything else is pure propaganda instigated by Persia.

It was almost always a custom that Barakzai would have their future kings marry either other Barakzais or Hotakis. The reason they married Hotakis was to prevent fighting between the two federations. Thats just my opinion.

                Salam brother,

these are written in Afghanistan´s historical books. Just as I wrote to sister Barakzai, she need to go to ask Kabul museum for the original book of Muhammad´s family tree. These are known by many people, even Pashtuns (educated ones).

Some of the Hotaks converted to Shiism under Iranians in Kandahar. In return they got lands and servants from Iran in the region. Their descandants still are Shias. F.ex. the Toris, Malizai and Tahirkhel are Shias. Under Taliban, in Afghanistan they used the right of Taqqia. Claiming beeing Sunnis. These 3 tribes are just view examples. In Paktia there are even Ismaelis among Pashtuns.

your knowledge is just a bit limited. That´s ok. With the time it will increase automatically.

Barakzai, before writing more emotional propagandas and denying the truth because of persnal reasons read the following
Life of the amir Dost Mohammed Khan of Kabul: with his political proceedings towards the English, Russian and Persian governments, including the victory and disasters of the British army in Afghanistan. By Mohan Lal, esq

It´s a digitalized book about D. Muhammad and read what he wrote.
