No. All leaders, started with Abdurrahman Khan to the days of Daud Khan were ethno-centric people. Always pushing the Pashtun cause, trying to establish Pashtu and Pashtun identity on the nation. Irnocially, they self could not speak Pashtu and were Tajikified. That was fascism (the same goes for Taliban rule) and ethnocide. To the time of Abdurrahman Khan, their house was Tajikified. All the princes and princess teachers were Darizuban and Qazalbash people, the governeurs of the regions were Darizubans, the court´s doctors were Qazalbashs and the most educated people, the top of the educated elite, were Qazalbash people. Pashtuns were not educated then and hated the city life. That changed when Abdurrahman Khan used the islamic card against Nuristanis, some Khostwals and Hazaras. He was threathend by his own Pashtun people in eastern Afghanistan to fight him if he further support the Shias. The Qazalbash f.ex were the elites of the army, the personal body-guards and so on. Alone Dost Muhammad had more than 12000 Qazalbashs who secured him and his family and his power, mostly from Pashtun tribes (irony). Pashtun fanatics and nationalists called for a war against all Shias. Many Qazalbashs left the country and moved to Pakistan, India, Kashmir or back to Iran. With the absence of them the Darizuabns became also weak and were soon replaced by not really educated Pashtun men, mostly religious teachers. They damaged the family´s interests and thus send their sons to foreign countries for studies because there was no trust on those old men. So after Dost Muhammad there was done ethnocide to non-Pashtuns. These are all recorded in books. We can´t fool ourself. All these facts amassed with the time to a mountain that resulted in modern Afghanistan and it´s current situation. If everyone had been threated well from beginning, we all would today live in our native country. However, people thought Afghanistan should be a Pashtun state while it wasn´t. The culture and language of Darizuabans dominated the country, many Darizubans came to the court under a fake identity while the representants tried hard to erase all other identities. They hadn´t any succes in that case because non-Pashtuns were culturally and ethnically more advaned then Pashtuns. Even after creating Pashtu Tolana and the various tries to diminish Dari in the country. The state was established on a centric philosophy. That was the mistake. With the time some people came up with wrong claims such that Pashtuns are the majority while they till to day aren´t. There is no majority in Afghanistan. There was never made a census. All the current figures differ from 30% to 42% for all ethnicities. The last census that was made and it was not much reliable was under the soviets. Pashtuns made 40%, Tajiks 37%, Hazaras 10%, Uzbeks 5% ... 2006 or 2007 there was a debate in the parliament about majorities and minorities in the state. Many non-Pashtuns called for a census but our Pashtun brothers in the parliament even cried that such a project would devide the country and they would not allow it (Karim Khoram was one of them, the man who is known for his statements and actions against the journalist who used a Dari word for university instead a Pashtu). Even my mother´s family accept these facts and hex the past events that made against Afghans, non-Pashtuns and Pashtuns. If we want an ethnic balance than we need first to talk about the diffences between ourself. Beeing trustworthy to ourself and don´t try to fool any party or the opposition. Leading a debate on the basis of an educated, academic and non-emotion project. Otherwise all the different figures are just claims and non-Pashtuns know that and they use that claims for their own goals. Because those claims are not proved beeing correct. There was a scientific research on the ethnical composition of Afghanistan by Jamil Hanifi, a well respect and high educated Pashtun in entire Afghanistan. His result was that Pashtuns´numbers are not more than 35% despite all claims and all ''official'' figures. However, there are also some other researchs but which are based on nationalistic views and claims. Such a ''research'' was once made by WAK organization, a Pashtun nationalist organization based in Peshawar. Even Pakistani government have forbidde to run the organization for further claims. Such organizations are the real enemies of Psahtuns. They support movements like Taliban who kill everyone that stand in front of them. Just look how many Pashtuns became victims because of Taliban. Very sad. Even the natioanlistic Musahiban family who supported everything Pashtun and Pashtu and even used the entire money they could get through taxes used on the Pashtunistan plan but what did it caused to Pashtuns? Did they really care about Pashtuns and Pashtu? They self were non-Pashtu-speakers and Nader Shah self was a native Urdu-speaker but imposed himself as the guardian of Pashtuns but at the end he and his family only damaged Pashtuns. One generation was followed by another generation. They just used Pashtun nationalism for their own goals.
