How long have they been in Marwat?

Kharot's are pretty dark, but alot of Pashtuns from those areas are. Not Bengali dark.
Caste system is in punjab. In our areas though all people are pashto speakers, but actually many people are of non-pashtun origin e.g syeds, qureshis, awans, mullahs, chamars, jats etc. Except syeds, rest of them have social status below the pashtuns. Then there are pashtun from other tribes who have settled among us, they live as 'hamsayas'. Do u know hamsayas in pashtunwali?

As kharotis in our area are hamsayas so they lack many priviliges as we marwats have, as the lands belong to us i.e we are landowners and they are living on the sort of contract basis.

Know I do thanks to you . I live in America, so I do not, and never claimed i know much about Pashtunwali. That is why am here . I grew up with Punjabi's though, but didn't notice that they had caste systems.

oh ok. The application of caste system is mostly on marraiges. It is totally relative. E.g awans are upper caste people in punjab but in pakhtunkhwa they their status is below pashtuns.
Its not that we look down upon kharotis, simply we prefer our own marwats over them. But now due to education and progress and materialism these things are diminishing. Now money and job are more important than social background.

Most of you guys in the west do not know that there is a sort of caste system in pakhtunkhwa which doesnt make us special than punjabis.
I have noted that damans, hajams, chamars, tarkans have low social status in our pashtun society.
On the contrary syed and other religous people who are given respect, they own lands and they marry with their own syeds.
Proper Pashtuns are those who come from afghanistan and conqour these lands, they belong to one of 60 tribes.

take an example. I was interested in a girl from my class. She was mian from swabi. I was thinking about sending her rishta. I asked swabiwals about mians. They told me that mians dont give their daughters to non-syeds and one guy told me that people of swabi dont give their girls to pashtuns south of kohat tunnel which includes marwats. So i didnt proceed.

                Interesting

You could have tried. That's funny, south of Kohat, so pretty much no Waziri's, Mehsuds, and Marwats.

Actually wazir, marwats, bhittanis, bannuchis are very strict on women and women wear shuttle kok burqa, they are often not allowed to seek education. also these areas are very backward and tribal. While compare to them pashtuns of swabi, mardan, swat etc are relatively modern , and women are allowed to seek education.t

In an industrial economy, skill and talent determines wealth. In a feudal economy, owning land determines wealth.

That's semi correct, Nashers are a fusion of Saljuk Turk and Pashtuns, I have Nashers in my family since they originate from Ghazni. The wealthy ones rule over most of Qunduz , they're centered around Imam Sahib

They're not necessarily his descendants, but they were closely affiliated with him.

Farhad Darya is also a Nasher

Marwats and Kharotis are actually related, both originate from Ghazni
