You never let your guests leave without them drinking chai... Even if that chai takes it's sweet time getting to them lol.

      lol

Don't talk, don't laugh, don't look around, don't ask stuff, don't be in anyone's way, don't be secluded, don't be depressed, don't be over-exited, don't breathe, don't be too ugly, don't be too pretty.

That's what some people want us to be like.

On a more serious and realistic note:
Be courteous. Be considerate. That's all there is to it.

You see people walk in, get up, greet them, offer them your spot.
When people are performing some sort of work, offer them your help.
When people are going out of their way to make stuff for you, (chai, food, etc.), kindly and humbly tell them they don't need to go through all that trouble and you just want to enjoy their company.
When offered gifts, try to reject them.
When giving gifts, insist that they are barely anything.
When meeting new people, relatives, friends, acquaintances, ALWAYS offer them to come home with you.
When entering a house, take of your shoes.
When guests are leaving your house, fix their shoes for them so it's easier for them to put them on.

Honestly, I have no malicious intentions while I am saying this, but I think Pashtuns are the most hospitable people in the world. Our manners are unmatchable. Someone can pretty much conclude that we will starve just to see our guest sleep at night with a full stomach. When an elder is talking, you must be quiet, and talking back, is like an insult.

Just a few days, I saw my female cousin with her Hispanic friend, I did not have the ability to talk to her face to face. My cousin sent me a text later on asking why I was so shy and honestly, I had no response. Its just that respect we have for the opposite gender. And this is my the 'Aka loor' by the way. She is younger than me.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

a guy could be friend with another guy for decades and still not know how many sisters he has...

it is a unwritten law not to speak or enquire about the women of the house... i.e. mother, sister, daughter, wife.

Pukhtuns have happened to be the greatest people in the world individually. Hospitality, open heartedness, beauty, courage, straightforwardness, intelligence, loyalty, dedication, respect for elders and care for younger and so many more, These all qualities have come in them not from the so called modern educated system but the old tarbiyat and environment of our beautiful society. So i would say we should stick to our values no matter how outdated or how conservative they are.
