How is the relationship between Pakistani and Afghan Pashtuns in the west?

Washington D.C. in the United States. the NoVa Pashtuns from Afghanistan and Pakistan are very integrated. Same in London and Toronto.

That's so great to hear. I've heard about the Pashtun communities in North Virginia and California and have always been curious about them as we have very few here. How many Pashtuns do you have there exactly.

I don't necessarily want to say "united" but integrated, they keep close contacts and relations. United might be another step, I can't comment on. Perhaps on somethings, but not all.

One thing I've noticed is that Pakistani and Afghan Pashtuns get along fine except that they have major political disagreements with each other over Pakistan and Afghanistan political relations.

Same I'm not racist and I love anyone who is a Muslim. I'm just talking more about cultural similarity and compatibility.

That's good to hear. Islam should always come first. Funny thing is that where I live there are a lot of Arabs so Soccer is more popular among the youth than Basketball.

but like most afghans in the west are dari-persian speaking, and any afg pashtun that was in the west has been persianized or influenced by persian culture. It's funny, right?

and cause of this, Pakistani Pashtuns who move to the west still remain ignorant of their origins because this gives the false perception that all Afghans are Persian or something like that. This is why they don't discover roots or identity and think only Pashtuns or Pathans that migrated with them are from Pakistan.

even the word "Pathan" is misleading. Not just desi people, if anyone foreigner like a white person or hispanics, blacks etc. asks about their ethnicity, they would say Pathan
but when they ask an AFG pashtun their ethnicity, the AFG Pashtun will say "Pashtun". Then the foreigner will walk away thinking "Pathans" and "Pashtuns" are different people. Also to add insult to injury, some people will think "Pakhtuns" and "Pashtuns" are different but this is a dialectal issue.

the government has not just did a conspiracy in the durrand line, they even did it to those who will immigrate to the west just to make sure Gul Khan Pashtuns remain ignorant about their origins.

As said earlier, I have started to say 'I am from Afghoniston' rather 'Pokiston'. It is way easier to live now(also feels nice), and also i dont need to present a speech about 'Who are Pashtuns/Afghons'...

One Pakistani Karachi based politician who is probably himself a Muhajir was complaining recently that Karachi has been taken over by 'Kandaharis' ,and that they have obtained Pakistani nationality and that Pakistanis are becoming a minority in their own country.LOL at that.

I think that Pashtun refugees from Southern Afghanistan such as Kandahar,Zabul,Helmand etc live in either Quetta or Karachi if they are in Pakistan. I have not come across a single Pashtun from Southern Afghanistan in KPK or Islamabad/Pindi. The refugees from eastern and northern Afghanistan tend to go to Peshawar/Islamabad and Punjab.
Also , you will find that Pashtuns of Balochistan usually travel to Karachi for work and business.There are strong tribal links between Pashtuns of Balochistan and those of Southern Afghanistan. I can imagine that they must be a very close knit community in Karachi.

Do Pakistani and Afghan Pashtuns in the west in the west relate and identify with one another? All of the pashtuns where I live are from Pakistan so don't have any knowledge of this.
