Anything that is an OPEN a display of Islam is adhered to in the strictest manner. As long as others can see you doing something related to Islam then that is the main thing as far as we are concerned, for that increases credibility. LOL. To hell with "niyyah.

While admitting that there are some aspects of Pashtun culture that go against Islam, but overall I associate Pashtuns strongly with Islam,be that ritualistic following or otherwise.Yes, we must work on our morals,values,manners too.

the islam that i know, states that education amongst women is compulsory. pashtuns have it ingrained in their minds that educating women leads to fitna. as a parent's it's your duty and obligation to protect your children. pashtuns tie bombs to their children and send them off to kill their enemies. to me, what that means is that somewhere down the line, they lost connection with the actual teaching of their religion and were brainwashed by a bunch of people who are clearly misinforming them and their lack of education or access to proper education when it comes to religion or other matters, is what is holding them back.


no one can cause anyone any harm unless they allow for it to happen. people are able to hijack our beliefs because we provide them circumstances that allows them to do that. pakistan, iran or india is a threat only if afghans allow for that to happen. instead of worrying about all these incoming threats, one ought to just focus on having general rules and boundaries that apply to everyone and that way, no one is backstabbing taking advantage of anyone.
