The problem with most of you nerds on this forum is that you intentionally create fitna.

On one hand people like gadoonwal saab say that being a Pashtun is following Pashtunwaali, and the language and culture.

On the other hand, the Tajiks and Hindus say that being Pashtun is based upon race. Based upon white skin and blue eyes. A genetic mutation. Hilarious.

I am a dark skinned Punjabi, so why do I have people in my family that have blue eyes?

All because of an inferiority complex..

The saddest thing I witness on this site is racists.

Whether they believe in Allah swt or not, none of them had the choice of being born from a certain race.

LOL

You guys are all some insecure faggots.

None of the members here have any achievements. All of you want to reminisce on the past, where you had no role. Hahaha

You may be a descendant of Abdali, but you are also a descendant of Adam saw. So what does this bloodline bring you?

At this point, it's not even the racism that bothers me. It's not the, I am more pious than you attitude.

What disappoints me is the jahil mentality.
See. The 'pride' I take in my ethnicity is not technically what I would call pride. I take all the positive qualities that Islam permits that my people are well known to possess (hospitality, piety, just) and try to recreate them in myself. Of course a pashtun can be unhospitable, atheist and unjust. Of course a Hindu dalit can be great. If you look away from certain members you will realize there is still lots of reasonable discussion on this website.. Not everyone here preaches pashtun supremacy but I feel like you are right and quite a few do..

And i have come across some of these U.P Pathans of karachi on internet. Very mohajir-istic and bhaiya type, very hostile towards pashto speakers.

If you ask me nicely, I may spend money at your kokha next time I am in Pakistan.

You can then claim that you are the Abdali of naswar.

Abdali of naswar? i have seen your punjab, you people are heavy smokers, and i have observed the growing popularity of naswar there, afterall its same tobacco. By the way i came across a free book on google books about castes and tribes of india, 19th century by some british author. There is also article on arians of punjab. It says that they converted to islam much earlier than others, have no appetite for soldiery and are mostly fond of vegetarian food !

I agree with the last few paragraphs about the members on here. I've observed that most of the people on this site are just dim-witted teenagers (RTR being one of them) and we pashtuns believe that pakis and tajiks are the cause of our suffering without looking at our own faults. If we keep reminiscing on the past, then i am afraid my people won't move forward considering how smart we really are.

This site is NOT a good representative of pashtuns.

No appetite for soldiery?

That's kind of funny since our sub-clans all exhibit soldierly professions:

However, in the ancient, Mughal and Sikh periods, Arains had held prominent positions, such as governors and army generals. Many gotras, or sub-clans, of the Arains bear names that indicate soldiering as an occupation. For example: Ghalar, Gahgeer and Goheer (ferocious horse of armoured corps), Gatku (fencer), Kavali (soldier patrolling while others rest), Basroo (observation post), Bahman (brave, uncontrollable or insurmountable), Bhaila (alms-keeper who walks with the commander when he is giving away alms after a victory), Daulay (those who got land in return for military services), Khatora (spy), Ramay (archers), Rattay (bloody, red, ferocious fighters), Ramday (red -eyed soldiers), Labanay (an army column equipped with batons), Jatalay (victors), Qutub Shahi: (soldiers or their offspring who accompanied Qutubuddin Aibak), Sappal (marksmen), Bahalwan (driver of a chariot), Mudh (logisticians supplying logistics and reinforcement to the army), Teerandaz (archers), Katarband (users of katar, a weapon used by ancient armies) and Bhutto (dwellers of high places).

But whatever. I am not a soldier.

No pak watan saib,
You are once again misleading others here.
To be a pashtun, you must be pashtu speaking, live by pashtunwali and have tribal links with pashtuns.
There are pashtunised arab,kasabagars etc.
And there are persainised and indainised pashtuns.
Now the indainised and persainised people of pashtun origin would never know the importance of language and culture.
Here on this forum we have only few pashtuns from afghanistan. The rest are not pashtuns. We pashtu speakers recognize eachother by our words and actions even if it is on net.
language and culture can unite you.
For example you can,nt compare pashtu speaking popalzai of kandahar with the persain speaking popalzai of kabul.
There is no macth. They do,nt act like same, they do,nt speak the same, they d,nt dress the same.
The persain speaking or hindi speaking pashtun is more closer to their fellow iranians and indains.
about the skin so i never judge people by their skin colour. It is sick mentality of westren racism towards indains and africans.
Most people on this forum living in west where white man treat people by the colour of their skin.
These poor guys are trying hard to explain to white man that sir we are not indains or south asians. We are in fact white people.
To make fool of themselves they look down up on dark skin people.

A true pashtuns need to act and behave like pashtun. They do,nt need to act like women and say i am more pretty ahahaha.
It is sick and example of westren racisim towards none-white.
Now these fools fall into westren propaganda.
They are calling punjabis dark skin but still they live under the rule and influence of dark skin punjabi.
They can not fire a shot in the air against pakistani army and here they discussing clours.
pashtuns on the east are occupied by punjabis and on the westren side they are living under persain rule and culture.Whether they like it or not but in reality they are far behind persains and punjabis.

I have a question for you. While I am pashto speaking, I have cousins who only speak Ormuri. They identify as pashtuns and follow pashtunwali and islam as their way of life. So are you saying they aren't true pashtuns? I still think pashtun culture and acting like a pashtun + being ethnic pashtun are the most important factors. Language is good too but i dont know.. maybe that is just because of my personal position of having close family that is non-pashto speaking.

The ormuri are not included in that group.
Ormuris are pashtuns and their language is similar to waziri pashtu.
Somewhere i read that this an old pashtu but still not clear how the ormuris adopted this language.

Being a pashtun the most important factors are to speak pashtu, live by pashtunwali and have tribal link with pashtun tribe.

yeah and if anyone identifies as a muhajir and pashtun they definitely are not pashtun lol. those are family myths (out great great great great grandpa came from afghanistan lol)
Well since Jalandhar isn't too far from KPK and you said Pashto was spoken by the Pashtuns there, I guess you can say people from there are real Pashtuns. Though the overwhelming majority of the "Pathans" in India are not Pashtun. I've met several from USA and there are even some that look like Sri Lankans and they'll call themselves Pathan.

I agree its sorta like a caste in India now but what I don't like is if someone claims Persian, Arab, etc. descent then they're considered wannabes by everyone there yet if someone hijacks our ethnicity then people accept it. There are a few Indian cricketers that claim to be Pashtun and nobody cares yet I always hear people calling Syeds & Pakis (Punjabis) in general Arab wannabes even though they don't even call themselves Arab but will just say their ancestors were Arab.

Not sort of a caste.. It is legitimately becoming a caste. I said earlier that some of my papers from pakistan say Caste: Pathan. I found that hilarious. Astagfirullah... I never want to be in the Hindu caste system. I know some of the ppl you are taking about.. Many beghairati kids too and they claim that one great great grandparent was from afghanistan Looool. I have come across many pieces of information on internet which mentions that there are still some villages/families in india which still speak pashto or were speaking pashto few generations ago. The only believable account was that of bhopal state, uptill 1947 they were recruiting soldiers from pakhtunkhwa/afghanistan, it was their tradition as the state itself was founded by orakzai pakhtuns two centuries ago. Some Families of those soldiers have still retained pashto.
After decline of mughal empire, when aurangzaib died, many pashtuns saw it an oppurtunity to make fortunes in india. Many pakhtuns enlisted themeselves in the service of rajas, nawabs, mirs or worked as mercenaries. Taking advantage of the choas after decline of mughal empire, some of them gathered and carved out their own states for themeselves across the india. Invasions of Ahmad shah abdali helped them further. There are surely descendents of those pashtun settlers, but indian pathans themeselves would tell you that many so called pathans in india are fake, converts from low castes. Converts assumed new identities based on their desires. Those who wished for brahman like status, adopted syed identity. Those wished for fearsome status, adopted pathan identity. And so on.

even High caste converts were extremely Rare even in non Dharmic lands such as east bengal.

i guess only 1 or 2% Upper castes got converted to Islam (maybe by force) same for kashmir. when afghans conquered it, most of brahmns simply left that region.

just like every South Asian muslim claims Arab/Turk/Afghan/Perisian Heritage, sme way Dalits of kashmir Started claiming Brahmin and Rajput Heritage by wrongly Adopting Brahmin surnames.
