Master Khan ... it gets better.

I was once at my uncle's house (and he's also a naswar wallah). Anyway as the guests arrived we stood up and eventually ended up swapping places. I happened to end up in the place where my uncle had his naswar spit bucket.

As I leaned over I dropped my car keys in this bucket, and had no choice but to put my hand and fish out my keys from a quarter full bucket of spit and naswar.

You alone cannot decide what is civilized and what isn't. And when you wear that despicable "dhothi" of yours, it might seem as uncivilized to a Pashtun as Pashtuns taking naswar to you.
I can decide whatever i feel like, i am entitled to my own opinion and i find the practice of naswar to be really disgusting and uncivilised....even if my grandfather does it, i dont defend it, even if my villagers do it i dont defend it....

What has a desi got to do wid this??? Naswar a cultural symbol wow....so im gonna defend it coz its our cultural symbol...it is civility to not agree with such practices even if your ancestors did it....it is jahiliyat to follow wrong things of your people/ancestors, when one wants to disagree wid it u say oh you are not a pashtun or you are a desi or watever other BS u wanna say....i dont even know wat a dhothi is, u know more about this **** than me....

In our society chars is becoming common soon that will become our symbol as well....

When the time of ramadan comes when people throughout the day cant have their naswar, they end up fighting eachother and cant take the heat (coz its an addiction)....u just see the state of people there when its ramadan, u think is this for real....u ask the people how come people are fighting more now than before, they say coz our society is full of naswari, so imagine when they cant take naswar how they feel...

Sorry just coz i am 100% pashtun, if majority of my people do a certain thing i am not a sheep....i am a human being with a brain......i dont need to follow desi or english or whatever, i have something far superior to follow which is Islam....

naswar has bad effects for a person...simple as that...if u wanna have naswar u are free to do so, if u wanna smoke chars go ahead...who is stopping u...but wen i am told wat i think about these things...its disgusting, its bad and there aint anytin good about it

LOL..Aseer Jann, I have a true story to share.I was attending some conference couple of years back and this one Punjabi guy asked me (during our lunch) that if I am into snuffing and this was followed by his special comment: "Aap Pathan ho iss liyea kaha, please naraz na ho", and his friends joined him in his tacky humor. I told him that his observation about me is pretty true since in addition to Naswar, I am a Charas (hashish) and Heroin addict as well. I also own my personal AK-47 and very soon he should find himself in "ilaqa-ghair". I could not spot the guy afterwards. I asked one of his friends and they said: " He really thinks that his life is in danger now!!".
My personal interaction with them (punjabis) have been pretty awful. They consider us "backward", "drug-addicts", "religious" and "chowkidar" (thanks to PTV) owing to their ignorance.lol

                        come on
                        dont blame the poor naswar
                        what about those who smoke?
                        in ramadhan everyone is
from arabs to afghans and pakistanis
I had never seen indians fighting in public.. i saw them 3 yrs ago in ramadhan
Nesha does effect the addicted but dont blame naswar for the reason of ramadhan fightings... there are many other reasons behind it

angaar dats wat the people told me themselves who are naswar addicts..they take their stress out on others by fighting....other people who are smoking addicts here they might try to focus on their faith during ramadan to combat their addiction....whereas many of those naswar addicts who fight in ramadan find ramadan as a ritual rather than a time for devotion

I've always wondered what the difference is between green naswar and black naswar. Is the black one stronger?

Those of you whose relatives use it, which variety did they use? Green or black?

Shamaar!!! You are missed. Good to have you here again .

All my father's generation are fans.

Yes, I tried it once. Actually twice. The first time when I was little, I sneaked some secretly, swallowed and was traumatised for years. The second time I was older, facing my demons and trying to break my trauma. I didn't swallow, but the treatment didn't change my view of the stuff. I might still have trauma inside me. How do you get over the smell of it when it is your own mouth?

Thanks bro, it's good to be back.

I think many of us have tried it. I also have close relatives who are... aficionados of it. But they all use the green variety.

When I went to Mecca, my father and I were with this Pashtun guy there, a migrant worker. He had the black kind, and I haven't forgotten the smell of it. It seemed very strong.

His gums around his canine teeth were almost as black as the naswar he was using. I've never seen that happen with the green variety.

It's funny how naswar used to be used as a method of torture during Ahmad Shah Baba's time.
