^Lol, I remember being at Qatar airport and met by all these straight-from-the-mountain type Pashtuns and a lot of them were wearing kohl. I've also seen it in pictures.

wearing kohl on the eyes is not flamboyancy in afghan culture. Different cultural norms.

I don't think has to do with islam because I have only seen this among Pashtun men.

so youve never seen old somali men or arabs. its islamic aswell since men are not allowed to dye there hair with anything other then henna
