It depends on what your planting and where, but most crops are planted in the spring.

        Growing Your Own Wheat

After you’ve decided how much wheat to plant, you’ll need to decide which type to plant. It’s easy to get confused about types of wheat. Winter wheat is planted in the fall and harvested from mid-May in the South to late July in the North. Spring wheat is planted in the spring and harvested in the fall. Both spring and winter wheat are further divided into soft wheat (lacking a high gluten content and used primarily for pastries and crackers), hard wheat (with a high gluten content and used for breads), and durum wheat (used for pasta). The variety you select will depend on where you live

Wheat is the staple grain in Afghanistan, Pashtuns are without excuse for their laziness.

So they harvest wheat during some of the hottest months of the year without tractors and you're calling them lazy?!

I said it depends on what your planting idiot.

Youre lucky enough to live in a country with abundant amount of resources. Try living in a country with very little resources and keeping people away from getting your resources ie arable land through force. You will be eaten up.

That's my whole point. America would be a barren wasteland too if they didn't learn and expand their knowledge

the Pashtun adoration and glorification of ignorance is why they can't farm correctly

this actually proves my point .wheat is grown may-june in Afghanistan...they waste a 2 months and wait till later, then they whine and complain about it being too hot, that's lazy

barley, they have the whole month of May. they could start earlier, pulse sounds about right. If they stopped being ignorant and learned more advanced ground hydrology they could probably plant more crops and not destroy top soil fecundity and start earlier so they won't have to complain about the summer heat. This is why they're lazy, This ADDS to my case SiNii ..thank you

It is clear that you don't have any practical experience in agriculture, or even daily living in 3rd world conditions.

You can read and write English, Pashto and probably Dari too.

You are one of the few who can end the ignorance.

You could be translating the numerous free educational videos, podcasts and websites and sending them to Afghanistan and KPWA for distribution. Are you majoring in Agricultural Science? Civil Engineering? Are you learning about localized energy infrastructure design, generation and distribution?

If this 'revolution thru reason' is going to occur, its going to have to start with expats like you, learning stuff that can help their countrymen in their daily lives, and teaching them.

A wasteland? Only SoCal and my home city in the SW would be a desert wasteland without irrigation technology. The rest of the USA is rich in minerals, fresh water, coal, arable land, forests, navigable rivers, mild weather... hardly a wasteland.

                              Ghula,
Your very good at making bad comparison. The Americans were not sandwiched between two powerful empires. They were free from outside interference. Not only that, it was a brand new nation from scratch, eliminated the indigenous population from making future land disputes. If you go to Afghanistan, people are making land disputes from a thousand years back creating instability. America would not be barren with or without people, its naturally green and 50% of the worlds fresh water is right here. If Americans had the intellect of monkeys like yourself, it would not be barren.

What do you think the communist land reform was all about, the purpose was to eliminate land disputes and be more stable but I guess the only way to do that is eliminate all the afghans and colonize it with a brand new people. Your an idiot.

And let's not forget that around 1.5-2 million Afghans have been forced to become refugees in Pakistan and another half million are displaced internally across Afghanistan. Many of these people left their farms and homes due to war in their villages, hence a great lack of productivity. It's foolish to just overthink that.
