  • What is the reason behind the lack of Education among Pashtoons?

Like what has caused Pashtoons to have no standardized education?

Is it geographic location? Where there is hard rocky terrain, so cross culture communication and building schools would be difficult? Is it the pashtoon style of living where people tend to be self-learners (autodidacts) instead of formal learners? Is it the hard mindset Pashtoons carry?

Is it a historical tradition, like in the past, something really bad happened which caused pashtoons to think education is evil? The historical reason is that in the golden islamic age, mongols and crusadors wrecked the muslim world, so some say after the islamic governments revived, they no longer persuided scientific revolutions like they did during their golden age.

Is it that outside influences try to destroy standardized education?

or that outside influences want to drive pashtoons to one way education to what they want (IE Pakistan would educate the biased nationhood to pashtoons making them forget about the Durrand line).

What other adjacent ethnic groups are considered uneducated?

    Geography is a big part.

Pashoonistan is nothing but rocks and dry soil, pashtoons spend the majority of their time hunting and gathering food, they got no time to sit down and learn how to read and write.

mixed gender education is a pretty sensitive issue, they fear pre-marital romance between opposite gendered students. For like primary school, i think mixed gender education should be granted upto the age of 10, and after they hit puberty, the schools should then seperate the genders...

Moreover, in Pashtoon or Islamic culture, the man is seen as more dominant than the female, so universities for males only would make sense to them, but a female university student would be useless or unthinkable. That's likely because they expect girls to stay home and bear children otherwise they'd be working in high class jobs but have only 1 child in their late 30's.

In Islam, gender gap is a big issue, it ends up with only males getting degrees or vocational diplomas while the majority of girls stop going to school when they're like 12.

I looked at western society too, they used to have the big gender gap, but now it has been abolished completely in the west.

They think education is haram. They again try to incorporate education and other stuff on the haram list and think it is forbidden in islam. So all these so called islamic scholars and scientists who contributed to the world were doing haram stuff? Thought so.

you know what I find ****ing paradoxical about all this?

Is that in America Pashtun women by and large are well educated and have viable careers

while Pashtun males are PREDOMINANTLY losers with of course a handful of exceptions. Myself, Admin Khan, Ramdolph and Barakzai being notable examples.

All the Pashtun guys I've encountered growing up are all dope smoking wannabe poser Wiggaaazz (a term for white people who try to imitate african american urban culture, but aptly describes Pashtun males on the East Coast) for lack of a better terms. And they do terribly in school. At best high school diplomas. They end up working at Kennedy Fried Chicken, which I recently found out isn't even HALAL , even though they swear up and down that it is.

Pashtuns are doomed to perish and our foolish culture is the reason why.

The broader question is, what is the reason behind lack of education among most pakistanis? in Pakistan, Sindhis and Baloch are actually much less educated than pashtuns.

I think it again comes down to what has the state actually done for the people? most of pakistan's budget goes to the army instead of going in to education and other important areas.

Yeah, punjabis are like 50% of Pakistan and they do get educated. Balochis and Sindhis opted for a Azad Balochistan and Sindhudesh.... the question is, is it the people's fault or the state's?

Geographically speaking, Sindh and Balochistan are arid, desert like regions, unlike Punjab which has really good agriculture. Punjab means 5 rivers, Sindhis have only the indus river... Baloch people have none.

throughout history, Pashtuns seem like they've never been educated, just a war like people. We had civilizations like Bactria, Ghandhara, the Kamboja kingdom, Indus Valley civilzation... but was there a civilization that Pashtoons founded? Ghandhara was sacked, Bactrians lived just north of Pactyans, Kamboja i don't know and Indus Valley civilization crumbled.....

Ironically, Indus Valley was in Sindh, and i could say 5000 years ago, the Mohenjo Daro civilization people were more advanced and had better lives than modern day Sindhi people !

The ones in Peshawar are, to get educated you need to be urbanized and live in cities

look at India for example, the city folks are so much more educated than the rural folks who are still living in the dark ages

What are you doing today for Pashtuns.
