that depends, if she can speak English and can take care of her self on her own then i don't see any problem with it. i don't want to end up being a full time interpretor
I don't mind. Many of the girls in the west are out of control.
I agree that environment plays a big role in shaping the people that we are, and that in the West, we're more sensitive to accepting this, however, I do not agree that this should be the reason people resort to the East to find partners for their children. I think if anything, it is the fitrah of a person that is the sole cause of their differences with others and East and West has nothing to do with this. If a girl (or/an boy), by nature has najai'za desires, then she will fulfil them anywhere and time and place will never be a barrier. Considering ones upbringing is vital in this instance and as cliched as this is, don't judge a book by its cover. I see very little room to criticise a parents decision for their child in marital affairs, but if this is the sole reason of turning to the East, I see a lot wrong in it (not directed at you Swat Brother).
Mahzala I agree with you but you also need to admit that many men don't want to take the chance. They have seen such horrible girls in the west that they don't want to take a bet on us girls anymore.
what about us here? If people like Sangar and all other educated Pashtuns import wat on earth do we do?? Marry a black man? All of the educated Pashtuns import.
First calling it Import Bride is somehow direspectful.
I agree with Amna. What about girls in the west. What do you expect. Of course once they pass 30, they will marry some non Afghan. Not all Afghan girls are bad. Pashto ke wai " wacho sara lamda ham sawazi"
Why the hell are you guys only talking about girls, what about the boys?
Pashtun boys are 100 times more ayash than our girls. Our girls even in the west are jewels and saints compared to our boys. Fact of the matter is we pashtuns have a very sick mentality where we allow boys to do everything they want but punish girls for every small mistake in the name of so called ghairat and namos. Islam doesn't discriminate in this way so its our own culture and mentality.
I don't think "import" is the right word, it seem disrespectful. But I see nothing wrong with bringing a girl over if you like each other and are compatible in terms of your values and personality. But its not right to go over there and look for virgin and clean girls when you yourself are not clean.
Good girls deserve good boys and bad girls deserve bad boys.
You have said it so well
**Please do not generalize all girls here, not all of us are like that.
i don't think we can decide for other people what is ok or what is not... especially when it comes to their marriage and/or choosing a partner...
i think some people have a very hard time meeting people in west... so they find it easier to just go back home and marry... meh... they can do whatever they want..
May Allah tala guide us and open our hearts, and turn our souls away from the badness that surrounds us.
I am... seriously ... shocked ..by the statements some people let fly out of their mouths here.
I am a strong, EXTREMELY STRONG AND FIRM, believer in CHANGE.
If a PERSON changes, or decides to change....who says that can only be applied to the male gender? IF a person commits a sin IN THE PAST, one should leave it in the past... May Allah tala forgive us for any wrong we do... I don't know how many girls / boys in the west do wrong, who does more ..etc etc ..nor will I worry myself with that, but I think not only with making good decisions, we should have tawakkal InshaAllah.
but this is my mentality and this might be due to what I have been exposed to... Allahu Alam...
May Allah tala help our struggling ummah... may we find spouses that are good for us in this world and in the next, InshaAllah.
