Oke women's day was yesterday but anyhow congrat to all women,
But did you peopel heard on the news about a new law for women in Afghanistan, I heard yesterday that women are now not allowed to go alone outside, like during the Taliban women must have a male relative besides her if she lives the house :S
So evil and they realised it on a womens day , another law to opress women is made. -_-
Khostai, about women rights in Afghanistan: Ulema Council in one of thier last statements asked for separation between men and women during work hours and education. They also included a ban on women travelling without a male escort. One of members of Ulema Council said that this statement was aimed to provide consultations to the Afghan nation and President Karzai and that the authority to implement this statement stays with President Karzai. I am not sure if Karzai already approved all those bans...

Well to be very frank I've heard about how women are oppressed in our society .. But as far as I've seen in my family or the surrounding Pakhtun families I know .. One of my friend usually comments about their behavior as 'Pukhtana Khday Pak na zaman ghwari aao mayan pa lur'oo (Daughters) wi'
yao warokay ghwandi baagh ao pa khwa ye seen rawan!
why is it a problem?
this is according to their culture and religion but offcourse westerners want to enforce their culture upon Afghans under different pre texts ,they mostly use women for their agenda.
Shadowgoverner, could you please indicate where I stated that it was a problem? I wrote what I had read about that situation. I can have my opinion on this but I haven't expressed it in the mentioned post. So please read carefully once again

Yes its a problem nobody asks for this stupid Laws, are women some kind of children that can't go outside by them selfs? They are grown up human being who have the right to choose for them self you and your monkey gang can say what you want but this is just stupid no matter where you are grown up in West or in Afghanistan.
this day has been around in afghanistan for over 24 years now. It's not our fault that you are still busy digging your way out of the same gutter you were digging out of 24 years ago. I bet 20 years from now you will still be doing the same **** with no luck.

the day is about as pointless as the dozens of awards that are given to afghan women by the west like the "courage" award or the rest of the cliched titles. days like this are not meant to uplift women, but to mold women into the western image of what a woman is supposed to be. which is pretty low, even by western standards these days. everyday should be womens day to muslims, we don't need 1 day out of 365 invented by the west to celebrate and appreciate women. the same goes for men, horses, racoons and every other living thing worthy of dignity and respect.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Afghan women who are presented awards for being courageous receive these awards for being brave enough to have put their lives in danger on daily basis to support for their families or contribute for the betterment of a society that has given them nothing but misery in the entire course of their lifetime. They are not being awarded courageous for doing a great job at practicing safe sex with random men, striping their way at bars to law school, being great single parents or keeping their heads out of a toilet at a rehabilitation facility for a chosen period of time.
What image is the evil west imposing on innocent Muslim afghan women?? That they be of some use to society?? Need I remind anyone of the importance or value of a woman in a western society??
Everyday is a woman's day in Afghanistan?? Really?? Is that why there are so many reports of their babies getting smashed against walls and their fingers being cooked coming up every day??
