  • Another thing, it is not a compulsion like urdu here. You know that the national anthem of afghanistan is in Pashto, the ranks names of the army officers and civilian institutions are in Pashto. In afghan parliament you can talk in Pashto. You can have your educational books in pashto. It is aslo the language of the court and you can correspond with the government in Pashto.

If in the case of Pakistan many have become blind then why you become so microscopic in this issue. Compare the position of your own language in Pakistan, even in Pakhtunkhwa to that in Afghanistan.

Even Sindhis have their own language as the official language of Sindh but here we been kept deprived of it

Our re-union will not be sudden one, first at least we should win it in our land inside pakistan then we will think about the rest. But you should agree in principle that we are still a colonised nation in Pakistan, in a far worse condition than we were under the British.

    • ^Actually dari is not foriegn langauge & share roots with pashto that is why it is more accepting to pashtuns in afghanistan & farsification there is rapid and deep rooted. Contrary to this only those pashtuns in pakistan r getting desified who live outside pakhtunkhwa. if u have felt urdu has failed to make place among pashtuns & there is natural resistance to its influence among us.
You will agree pashto must remain pashto, not a mixture.

      • Like sindhis pashtuns can make pashto a compulsory subject & make it official langauge of province, but they in sort of coma.
But amazingly pashto literature is still surviving in pakhtunkhwa. To find books of pashto , you have to visit peshwar not kabul.

But you must know that unlike Pakistan where they tried to imposed Urdu even on the 56 percent population of Bengal (and you saw the consequence), here are other official languages as well besides Pashto and Dari.

No, Pashtun can't make pashto as the official language. The bill should have the consent of Punjab just as in the case of renaming NWFP. And this too is not that easy.

The most pashto books you seem in Peshawar are duty to these displaced Afghan community my friend. Go ever to University Book Agency and see for yourself that who generally purchase pashto books. Mostly these are not our Faki Pashtun brothers but our displaced Pashtun/afghan brothers.

Dogs are loyal to, but even they know when there is danger ahead. Pashtuns are like jodigul said in a state of coma. Even low level workers are brave, it won't mean a damn thing, because guess what, they don't sit in the policy tables. So while GHQ (the country you are proud of) and US/NATO bomb us from hell and back, there will still be "loyal pathans" who don't want to get out of this mess. Forget get out of, they don't even want to acknowledge or protest anything. The fact of the matter is that until unless Pashtuns don't unite themselves on a platform they will get nothing, and this region will be mired in conflict. I am ashamed that some idiot in Islamabad or peerangyaan will decide to fence the line between us two. We should leave this false sense of pride adn go to whats true. Even the Palestinians are better than us, at least they protest.

Why on earth would they go to war torn Afghanistan? They are well educated and are the first to wave the flag.
This stuff of Afghanistan being war torn is a myth propagated by the powers in Pakistan. Only last year more people died in bombings to the east of Durand Line than in Afghanistan. I know many people who have gone to Afghanistan post 2001 for jobs and businesses.
Secondly, what is the state of affairs been in Pashtun Watan since 1947? What have we got in return for our staunch loyalty to Islamabad?

Jodigul wrora..Please study a bit of the history of Pashtun Watan since 1747 and you will know many things that lead to the current situation of Pashtuns. We were at war with the Russian Empire and British Empire at the same time. So many external factors are involved here.
And secondly, what exactly are our shortcomings? That we fought the British Empire with more valour than any other peoples on Earth? or that we have produced leaders of the calibre of Ghazi Amanullah, Baacha Khan, Samad Khan Achakzai and Mahmud Khan Achakzai in the past century alone? Each one of them is an anti-imperialist icon in his own right.
                        What are our shortcomings?

Pakistani wrora, I have no team or agendas. We all are in it together, at least those who have learned to break the animalistic barriers that 'Mutaliya ye Pakistan' has created around the intellects of so many of our Pashtun brethren.

And what Islamic superpower? What is so Islamic about Pakistan? And how is it a superpower?
