Here in Canada, we know this Pashtun family and they got their 17 year old daughter who is still in high school engaged to an afghan man from wardak who is atleast 22 (not sure) but he is much older than her. I guess this shows that it goes both ways. You are right here in North America my mon jokes around how their are so many girls to choose from back home, but doesn't saying anything about marrying an afghan from Canada or America.Last edited by Kushan Prince; 03-17-2013, 02:01 AM."Revenge is a dish best served cold".

In pakistan, punjabis are known to treat their women worst. I am not sure how pashtun men treat their women, but punjab has the highest crime/rape rates in the country. So this is a myth.Originally posted by Prince_Pukhtun View Posteach to their own as long as you are not planning to ruin her life at some stage, got rejected by a pashtun girl who went for two punjabi guys instead, and im not even ugly lol or a douche
there is sadly a stigma around pakhtoon men being animalistic, unreasonable, hypocritical which turns many pukhtana off of them, but makes others attracted to them
ultimately rubberduck, if you are a good man, and will treat her right, then go for it
I believe it has to do with education, if a person is educated, they are most likely to treat their woman right, doesn't matter what ethnic background

I would like to marry a girl who I met 9 months ago. She is what I have always looked for in a woman. She means everything to me and I have decided that I will ask her to marry me.
Her family are a little backward and to be fair not their fault. :p I have had good talks with both her and her family on the and email only. I speak good Pashto and have a very good grasp on culture, custom and most importantly see myself as compatible with their daughter.
There is a little history with the ol girl and I don’t really care. When she finds out how many woman I have slept with she would be shocked!
Anyway, the problem is well I am not a Muslim, so Nikah is going to be a problem. She is well aware of this predicament and simply avoids having to answer any of my questions when we have a chat.
I am going to meet her parents soon, I am going to Germany this week but will be going to Pakistan for 3 days so need this post answering to the best of anyone ability before Sunday :p
Opinions Please.

I think it is their inferiority complex which makes them to pretend themselves very broad minded and moderate. So they deny everything from their indigenous culture.Originally posted by Master Khan View PostTo be honest I lost all hope in Pashto and our culture according to the members here, they are are too soft and weak Pashtuns here that will end giving away their sisters and daughter to strangers.

Marry... I say go for it though you are right when it comes to nikkah technically she won't b allowed to marry a non muslim but you can a) convert for the sake of nikkah ( you don't have to believe in it or practise.... Think of it as a means to an end) or you can just do a civil service ... Personally I believe if two ppl like/love each other then go go itFrater aliquis in fide nec fratrem humanitatis

Oh hell no. Think of marriage as a big bowl of kichari, it's already pretty f'd up, why add more trouble by mixing. What are you gonna speak at home? English? How will religious differences work? How will the family relations work? There's so much more, and I really hope you didn't marry her. 9 Months is nothing.Yama Pukhtoon da Pukhtano sara zam.
