Many years ago I watched a hindi movie called 'janoon'. there was a pashtun character called sarfaraz khan. very brave and very anti-british.
in iran, sarfaraz is a 'surname' or last name [not to be confused with family name]
in pakistan it is a first name.
have you heard of this name in afghanistan?

no... i haven't heard of the name sarfaraz at all...Originally posted by torkham View PostMany years ago I watched a hindi movie called 'janoon'. there was a pashtun character called sarfaraz khan. very brave and very anti-british.

have you heard of this name in afghanistan?
and i guarantee you, the moment u tell an afghan about some sarfaraz, he will say "oh is he pakistani?"
there is huge difference between how pakistanis name their children and how afghans do.
names like, irfan, imran, kamran, farhan, faraan, shafqat, sarfaraz, rizwan, junaid, shehzad, and many more are only associated with pakistanis.
in terms of names, afghans have less creativity and like to repeat themselves haha
