I would like to have two children; a boy and a girl, whom, insha`Allah, I will name uniquely after districts of the Paktika province.

I have chosen the Yusop Khel, Jaani Khel, Nika, Omna, Zeruk, Dila and Urgon districts as having the best-sounding names.
I would like to have included Bermal, Mata Khan, Turwo and Gomal as well, but then my children would have some long ass names.

My kid's first names will be of pure Pashto origin; Zmarak (Little Lion) and Zhalaii (Hail).

My son will be named Zmarak Yusop Jaan Nika Shahid Urgonai and my daughter, Omna Zhalaii Zeruk Dila Shahid Urgonai.

It may sound odd, but I want my kids to know their roots and be branded with them for all eternity.

Pashtuns must have only Pashtun names for proper identity . A Pashtun name will help the Pashtun not to be involved or identified as a terrorist but having pure Arabic names with prefix of Abu , the typical style of Wahhabi terrorist is an indication that one is connected to the menace of terrorism.

I always recommend that Pashtuns must be more and more nationalist . The more you are Pashtun nationalist , the less you will be religious extremist and terrorist. Name is a symbol and can help one not to fall in the trap of Wahhabism and terrorism.

Religion is in your heart. Arabic names is Arab culture not religion. One can be a good Muslim and at the same time having a pure Pashtun name. This is a trap of Arabs to motivate Muslims to have Arab names to culturally dominate them. In many Muslim countries like Indonesia you don't have Arab names usually.

I prefer names like Abasin, Zmarey. Aymal, marhdakey, Jawkey, kashmaley etc for males and Palwasha, Brekhna, Silay, Ranrha, Gul panrha, Ghantol etc for females.

Look how these names identify Pashtuns with nature instead of some ideology or religious myth.
