Actually they are. Pashtuns mostly match up with Kalash/Baloch/Tajiks. The Nuristani/Kalash are said to speak an Indo-Aryan language by some and Dardic by others (though extensive work has not been done on their language) but they resemble Pashtuns/Tajiks/Balochi people on a genetic level.

You'll have to go on anthrogenica and do some searches there. It's a forum dedicated to genetic testing. There are handful of Pashtun users there and Kalash/Nuristani populations tend to come up as one of their closest population reference, as well as the Baloch and Tajiks (Afghan Tajiks more so than Tajikistani Tajiks, but yughnobi Tajiks tend to show up for Afghan Pashtuns and Afghan Tajiks alike, while other Tajikistani Tajiks other than the yughnobi don't show up much for the Afghan Tajiks tested, most likely due to the fact that Tajikistani Tajks have a much higher East Asian admixture).
