Okay we should do it the last weekend of May...its a three day weekend. That will be helpful for Zayam and hopefully for Roshina too.

What we can do is meet up in Fremont, carpool in two cars to Cal Trans, then arrive in San Francisco. That way we are all together and no one will be lost. Because i am not used to driving in SF and i think you will be the only one lol....and it will be hard to find parking.
Ok, for now lets see if others can make it the last weekend of May... sounds good.

Girl!... when i am with you don't worry about anything...i will drive you guys, and find parkings and restaurants, and other places inshaAllah... or if u all want to take public transportation we can do that too da khaira.

      it will be awesome...

by the way, i just want to mention the best part of being in forums is meeting these incredible girls... I met Iqra through Afghan forums... and she is now like a part of my body... love her to death... I met Fatima... and i felt like i have known her for years!... and i met Kandahari Ella too i think... she was at the same event... we all felt like we knew each other for decades.... I will consider myself blessed if i meet more awesome girls like the ones i mentioned already.

        Awwwwww sounds good.

I will talk to Roshina and Zayam like today and see what they say, since they are the ones that live far.

As for me, i am sure i have nothing to do after finals in May.

Keep in touch so that we can make this happen sistah!!!

                i absolutely hate san fran.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Being Pukhtuns, we should know what our values are ?
Segregation is of the most important norms of our cultural values but unfortunately our so called modern educated class has forgot about this.
Here in this forum everybody talks about and spending their energies for a separate land but nobody is daring or even trying to speak for our values.
Always remember one thing, our identity is our values.
so segregation is very important. I like kakargirl's views. She is the real Pukhtun girl.
I am proud of her we have some Pukhtun girl here. The rest are demonstrating more like punjabis or indians or some western culture affected girls.

Let others do what they want to...they are grown-up people and can decide for themselves...Pashtunwali in the archaic form is no longer practicible....Let these Pukhthanae find their own interpretation of Pashtunwali according to their circumstance....

And why avoid mixed gatherings...? Can't they (males and females) meet each other without being gender conscious and as human beings? I wish I could be there and attend their meeting. It would be nice knowing their views and feelings about things and issues. Never met a Pakhthana from Afghanistan.

You can not apply this rule "let them do what they want to do" everywhere. you should have some knowledge about the pukhtun culture.
I would prefer you leave this forum and join some indian one that would suit you more.

                        __________________________________________________ _______________

As far as this thread is concerned...

Pakhtunwali is synonymous with Islam - and no woman should go out in public without a mahram accompanying her. However, most of these girls sing along beyounce "Indepandent women" so they are left on their own to do whatever. Heck, if their own parents or brothers don't care for what they do once they leave the house...so who are we to judge? It's not as if The Almighty will question us for their mindless activities.
Even if pashtun guys and girls "meet up", it'll just be awkward. I have seen it before. Guys talk politics, history and economics, girls gossip. This is why when you go to an afghan's house, the men will sit separately from the women...even if this sort of arrangment is made...the boys will separate from the girls because they have a difference of interest. Girls want to become bffs and talk about their gucci bags and eye shadow. The active force is the masculine..we want to do something practical with our lives and work towards some good for our country and its people. The passive force is the feminine...
anyway manzareh has blown this way out of proportion (as usual) and even if there was a guy/girl meet up it would just be a failure.

After reading some (male) posts, I completely understand why Pukhtoon men don't understand Pukhtanas.

just like how you think you understand pakhtoon men, likewise, men think they understand women... it's the kind of self deception that makes the battle of sexes endless, so fret not sister, the feeling is mutual.

                              @Alchemist
Unfortunately, Pukhtanas back home are used to go with the flow of their men. It doesn't matter how wrong our men are, most of us back home are taught to just deal with it. Men on other hand only know women are supposed to deal with it, they don't know what it feels like living a life which is ruled by brothers before marriage, and husbands after marriage. And the biggest reason for this is the strictness in our culture. I am not saying our women and men should start dating, hang out every day with everyone, no. I am saying at least within a family speaking to fellow family member of the opposite gender should become normal, I even know many Pukhtoon families where even brothers and sisters won't speak to each other! Like that how will we ever understand each other? How will most of our men ever realise even a woman has wishes and desires? How will most of our women ever realise life is more than just obeying men? And I guarantee, I am not the only one with any such ideas.
