We do the whole hamsayatob, we have some Indian, Mexican and Colombian neighbors. We sometimes go over and give them something, for example Barfi or Kabab.. and they sometimes come over and bring us some nice Gujrati dish or precious Colombian bread.
Half of our neighbor's lemon tree is hanging over our back yard lol, so one day they told us that we can take lemons from there if we need some.

But the store is really close, it's literally down the street and even if some of us weren't drivers, we could walk there.. so it's all good

Daa zma lewanay Zrra gorah, daa sta lewanee Mina..
Za ba da Sahra warnakam da Iran pa Golestan,
Dalta za yao & yakta yam, halta zar zma pa Shaan

sometimes i go to strangers homes and ask if they have pizza.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Hahaha, So my mom has this tendency to cook something and then realize that she doesnt have some on the MAJOR ingredients. It annoys me to no end- and then I would be like ok Ill go to the neighbors house and get some and she would be like no its fine we dont need it and get mad at me. I think its more of a pride issue lol.

But I always found it to be quite charming in a-way. I guess because we dont do it much here in USA (atleast my fam) and it reminds me of Pak

oh and that pizza looks sooooooooooooo good!

never happened to brrow any ingredients of food, but borrowing the tools happened many times. i dont see anything wrong with it.
but during my student life it was happening constantly.

I have borrowed before, and I didn't know it was an Afghan thing, as I am a "white American-Welsh ethnic background" and it is very typical here. But I only borrow in an emergency like no time to get to the store-and of course always return it, or bake something for a neighbor who is neighborly.

Had done it almost everytime when I needed something but then my neighbor was my own aunt so I didn't feel embarrassed at all. I would even tell them how did I want what I wanted.
