Regardless of my reluctance to support the Taliban;
I must admit the traditional Pashtun garb and image is very attractive to me; these men look so regal. Not to seem shallow but I rather see men that look like this leading over me than men that look like Zalmay Khalilzad.
I'm very tired of this "House Slave" psychology that U.S. Cent Comm, Toramana and other similar types keep trying to indoctrinate in people.
With that said I wouldn't want to be lead by the Taliban or Zalmay Khalilzad.
We need righteous and genuine men like Mawlana Yunus Khalis and Mawlana Muhammad Nabi Mohammadi.

Maulavi Yunus Khalis WAS a true Pashtun fighter, very authentic.
Once when a journalist traveling with his group had his luggage STOLEN
by some bad guy posing as a mujahid, Maulavi Khalis refunded the entire amount of the value of the items lost.
Now THAT's honor !
It was remarkable behavior.
Unfortunately he has gone on to his reward, so he can't lead now.
I know what you mean though.
Mohammad Nabi Mohammadi - I always felt was quite a vague personality.
Not bad certainly.
His fighters did rather little fighting, so he was on the sidelines during the entire antiSoviet jihad; not a figure or party with huge stature like Yunus Khalis and Jelaluddin, his military commander.
Why did you like him, Scimitar ?

nice video. i agree with edge. id much prefer a taliban with people like muttawakil, zaeef, and the late mullah rabbani at the head. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

i always get pissed off when i see afghan ambassadors to other countries or diplomats wear suits and ties. if u are gonna represent afghanistan, at least look like an afghan. i remember reading an article a while back about beards in pakistan, how a few decades back almost no one had beards outside of the tribal areas but they were influenced by the afghan mujahadin. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. If Mullah Rabbani was the Taliban's leader and not Omar; the Taliban would be totally different.
I want to visit Rabbani's grave and pray for him. He was such a beautiful and pure man, spiritually and intellectually.
I repent supporting the Taliban in my past, I was driven and blinded by tribal bonds, because of being Hotak; I've learned my lesson.

Loy Khudai wabakhi/ Allah yaraHHmo Rabbani Sahib; the world is much worse off without you.

I wish he was still alive so he could be leading the Taliban, perhaps he could have saved them from their deterioration into an erratic group of self destructive day dreamers.
Yes it's true Mullah Omar was chosen, but remember the Mullah Omar of 1994 is not in mindset the Mullah Omar of 2011.
