We used to have similar conducts. Now we only speak the same language.

There difference is that you get those in Afghanistan who are persianized and choose to speak Dari as their mother tongue, then you have those in Pakistan who choose Urdu as their mother tongue. You tell that hes from Pakistan when he says Acha etc.

However the real Pashtuns are stuck in the middle.

You have those in Afghanistan who are very extremely into being abused by ISI, and then you have those in Pakistan who call Afghans as mujjahirs but consider Toor Kwanee Punjabis as their Brothers.

The other difference is that those in Afghanistan eat their rice with reisins while those in Pakistan eat biyani.

In blood and culture we are all the same, same pagray, same blood, same beard, same culture, same traditions and same bond.

I guess its influences that separate us, Because you have Pashtuns who have ahmed shah masood as their idol and Osama in Afghanistan then you have pashtuns who have Jinnah and Liaqat ali khan as their idols.

We need to work and discover the sacrifaces our past leaders did for us, from faqir of ipi to khushal khan khattak.

Nope no difference. Same people, different countries.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                    -Ferishta, 1560–1620

Maseed said it best...we are basically the same people. However in the bigger cities you can see different influences. I.e. use of urdu in pashtunkhwa and use of farsi in Afghanistan. DZJ, don`t confuse peshawar for the rest of Pashtunkhwa, and no Pashtunkhwa pashtuns are not liberal (minus a few). I don`t know where you got this from.

Pakhtoongal, if somone asks, say we are one people, just diff passports.

The Quetta and southern Pakhtunkhwa Pashto is closer to Kandahar than it is to Pekhawar, Swat, Charsada, Mardan, etc. Similarly, the Pekhawar Pakhto is closer to Kabul than it is to Lakki Marwat and Waziristan.

lol and as far as "chi kum" and "marra" are concerned, I've found that Pakhtuns from Pekhawar use that a LOT. Whatever they say is filled with "chi kum chi kum".

There's no difference between Pashtuns/Pakhtuns living anywhere. Of course, even our immediate neighbors, the Wazirs and Masoods, speak a different Pashto from us, so a difference in dialect cannot be counted as a substantial difference between Pashtuns living in the east or the west of this imposed Durrand Line.

Pashtuns everywhere have the same culture more or less. Being "liberal" or "conservative" does not mean being Pashtun or non-Pashtun. Asfandyaar and Achakzai have huge support-bases in Pakhtunkhwa and Pashtunkhwa and they represent left-wing parties.
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".
