WRUND
You are misisng the argument due to your weak congitive faculties.
Even if Urdu is considered as a langauge [which it is not strictly speaking] and even if we make ourselves fools by thinking that Urdu [which is a Islamised /refined form of Hindi with Parsi cum arabic influence too], it is the political aspect of the languages and not their literary or historical aspect which is important for us. I am also in favour of Pashto but not at the cost of national unity, integrity and sovereignty of Afghanistan.
Yes I agree the Afghan Kings and Monarch did not serve the language as was due but you see the power of state is more important and effective to make contributions to your langauge and culture. Now what I am seeing is that Toramanna and others are bent upon to divide Afghanistan because accordign to their assumptions Tajiks or Parsi is more influential and Pashto is being persianised. This is what is irritating. You need more power to enrich your language and culture and have a respectable positions in the world and for that you need to the power of a state and a respecting attitude towards other languages as long as they are not imposed on you or are a threat to your cultural heritage or national identity and worldly progress.
From the argument being put forward it seems you want to isolate Pashto and Pashtuns from the world to have just a Pashtun state which will not only result in loosing whatever Pashto you have right now but also your politico-economic enslavement by others will follow. This is not acceptible.
As far as Urdu being the national language of Pakistan and being alien to Punjabi is concerned, I think there is no basis of Urdu being the national language [or even a langauge] for Pakistan as even the majority community [Punjabis] in Pakistan are not happy with this decision and Punjabi scholars and literary figures have pointed it times and again. So when we neither have some material benefit nor have some national or historic or ethno cultural basis for making a language to be national then we are justified to say that such a langauge is imposed on us.
