Parsiwaan, you claim it's a fact. For the sake of the discussion lets agree that you are right. Do you mind providing proof for your argument?
I can argue that the original inhabitants of Germany were Pashtuns as well. But it would be my word vs yours. Please bring some authoratitive sources to the discussion.
Thanks.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I wouldn't say Hindavi or Hindustani was "very much" similar to Dari though it did have loan words from Dari as well as other languages. And, for sure, Persian was imposed upon India by most of the Muslims rulers from Central Asia - again that was, in major, a dictate of history.Originally posted by Nick View PostDawezai it was very good start. However Did you know that in India a language was known as "Hindawi was very much like our Dari, weird to believe but believe it. It was there, if you want you can look at many form of history documents and you will witness what British calls "Persian", but the fact the Indians themselves called it Dari. Was it enforced upon them, brought by Muslims from Northern Areas or was it just adapted by the locals.
Well the history of Dari is deep inside Afghan land, by that many Iranians gets surprised when I say the names, writers or scrips of Ancient times ie 750 AD the first form of Dari was witnessed in Today's Taliban's strong hold LOL Yep Helmand. So hey believe it or not Dari is a mixture of Afghan and its native and adapted by the population. Due to its fame today there are millions of Afghans, lost their tribal roots, yet remained as Dari speakers, confused and mixed with other Ethnics/Immigrants.
Today's Afghanistan itself had been part of Persia for a considerable period of time. So, the Iranians can well call it "deep inside the Persian land".
To understand the popularity of Dari we have to understand that Afghanistan had been ruled by Medes (728-550 BC), Achaemenid Persians (550-330 BC), Sassanids (230 BC-565 CE), Saffarids (863-900), Samanids (875-999), Ghaznavids (963-1187), Ghorids (1149-1212), Mongols (1252-1353), Timurids (1370-1506) and Mughals and Safavids (1501-1738), all of whom promoted Dari/Persian or its ancient form.

Where did you pull this historical info out from? Those areas were not farsi speaking then and sure aren`t now. Pashtun`s ancestry came from Sycthians, Kushans, Hephthalites, but the modern day Pashtuns were situated in the the southern parts of Afghanistan.Originally posted by parsiwaan View PostIts a fact, the real native of Afghanistan are Farsiwaan, read history, Pashton were/are nomads that recently come down to cities...Kandhar, Jalaabad, Gardiz, Asadabad were all Farsi speakers..but this changed when Pashton come down and settle in these area.

Baburi Nahmah defines where each ethnic reside----Its not uncommon to find people with last name Tajik even in Pashtonistan, another proves who were the native of land.Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostParsiwaan, you claim it's a fact. The fact is both Tajik and Pashtons are from same racial stoke--heir ancestors are Indo-Iranian Bactrians, Soghdians, Sakas, Persians, Parthians, Medians...Farsiwaan has as much right on afghanistan as the Pashtons.

It was not our fault because we needed to run the state bureaucracy and we did not have any Pashtuns to do that for us. Also, linguistic nationalism had not yet born in those days.Originally posted by Aseer JaanOf course it was our fault. Why were we so naive in falling in traps of Pakistan and Iran? Why did our politicians not work on the progression of Pashto while they wearing ruling Afghanistan since its founding? That is true to a limit. Kandahar in those days was just as competitive. In fact, Ahmad Shah Baba Lysaa of Kandahar produced the best students out of the entire Afghanistan at its prime. There students always topped Uni entries examinations. But how can we just brush this off?
Pashto would have passed through the same fate with or without Kandahar. The fall of Pashto started when the capital was changed from Kandahar - Kabul.

The native of Iran are Meds, Persian and others, while native of Tajikistan just like Afghanistan were Bactrians, Soghdians, Sakas, Persians, Parthians, Medians...BUT today the people of North, western Iran(tranagle of Esfahah, Tabriq and Tahran) are racially Turks that had adopted Farsi as language.Originally posted by Zarawar View PostThen who are the real natives of Iran and Tajikistan?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/1502189.stm
"DNA samples from Iran show far fewer Indo-Iranian markers in the west of the country, despite an Indo-Iranian language being dominant across the region."

Today Tajikistan are also mixed, there are Turko-Mongol and then there are those Indo-Iranians.

Again, "should have never gave up on our language" is a recent development.Originally posted by JasmineThese excuses are pathetic in my opinion. we should have never gave up on our language.
This is not true. All Afghans are defending Afghanistan. However, if some assume that Taliban are the defenders of Afghanistan and that others should support the Taliban, then they are seriously mistaken and need to fix their perception. Its insane that we have are we the only chowkidaars of Afghanistan? How about the Tajiks also help us defend the country? While we are busy defending Afghanistan from invaders many minorities are hibernating.
I agree.Pashto fell from its prestige because of its speakers.Last edited by Guest; 07-31-2010, 06:59 PM.

I asked you for scholarly sources for your previous argument. You made some claims, Id like to see you defend them. According to you Afghan is just a term used to describe a citizen of Afghanistan. Fine, let's agree that presently speaking all citizens of Afghanistan are Afghans. But werent Pashtuns historically known as ethnic Afghans? What about that? Are you implying that Tazeks,Uzbeks hundreds of years ago also walked around claiming they are Afghan?

Your own Afghans made Kabul the Capital.Originally posted by naziaDawezai one thing that you said that I disagree with is you mentioning that Kandahar had no effect in this.
Think about it again wror jaana. Dari is predominant because of Kabul.
Afghan at present does not mean Pashtun as others have taken the Identity upon themselves.
Kind Regards

It is very sad to see so much hatred for your fellow countrymen's language just because they come from a different ethnic background;indeed very sad.
Europe contains people from different ethnic backgrounds yet they live together very peacefully and don't share any hatred against eachother. They respect, love and wed from eachother's ethnics good. I have never heard any of them showing any hatred against another ethnic group of their country infact not just that they are more kind to the people from other parts of the world as well.
Look at them and look at us, they have put these childish gibberish ( My language is this and that) in the back and have come together for only one purpose to respect eachother and serve their country with the best way possible.
Another sad thing is (This is only for the muslim brothers and sisters) we call ourselves Muslims and claim that we believe that Allah (SWT) is one and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is his messenger yet none of actions resemble as a Muslim. We hate our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters just because they don't speak Pashto but Urdu, Dari etc.
At the end of the day our Taqwaa is what matters the most not Pashto, Dari, Urdu etc.
My brotherly advice; get over giving so much priority and importance to your language instead focus on what your Allah (SWT) and his Prophet (PBUH) have ordered you to do. There's a fine a limit of giving importance to one's language and culture but some of your guys clearly pass those limits that's not a Muslim's characteristics.
Wsalaam.
