Khushal Khan Khattak isn't the only one amongst Pashtuns who have had alignment with foreign Muslims based on Islamic Orthodoxy
Mir Wais Khan Hotak went to Makkah to seek the Scholars of Makkah's guidance on overthrowing the Safawid rulership and to join in alegience with the Ottoman Empire.
Historical evidence shows, your secular approach is the abberation and an Islamic Centered ideology, was he norm amongst Pashtuns prior to Imperialism. which means there is a possible link between servitude to European Imperialists and secularism in Pashtun society

. These sorts of ideologies are accepted in many places around the world but Afghans and especially Pashtuns are probably the last people on earth to embrace an ideology like that. I suspect that deep inside, people like the author know this and it only serves as motive to create and broadcast more and more propaganda pieces. In the old days, all around the world, commies relied on empty propaganda and biased agenda-based articles in their publications to promote their goals and win the naive to their side. Those days have ended though and Afghanistan is not going to be the next Democratic People's Republic of North Korea anytime soon. Nor does the author's chances of being the next Dear Leader seem very promising.
