    The Apogee of My Being

    k, here's my latest one.

Edit (Apr. 2): It's the edited version; I made a couple of changes.

    The Apogee of My Being

When will I reach the apogee of my being?
When will I feel myself welcome in the circle of sages,
    Environed by ambrosial perspectives,
Unencumbered with asinine notions of forbidden and permitted,
When, ultimately, everything is forbidden and everything permitted,
It must be in someone’s Book.
But these thoughts confound my mind
And deny me my right to my own psyche—
    And I ache to know,
When will I reach the apogee of my being?
So that I may spurn these frivolous discourses held among the
Unlettered masses inside me and around me?
When will I reach the apogee of my being?
So that I can recline on the cushions of contentment,
Far, far away from this masquerade
That obliges me to dissemble my very being,
But I wait to reach the apogee of my being
So that I may embrace myself
And make it known to the worlds,
The world of the forbidden and the world of the permitted,
    This is me—no more facades.
My once-thirsty anima has unearthed its roots,
    And found its companions.
But rapt in these moments of respite,
I have arrived yet again in a desert.
Alas, when will I reach the apogee of my being?

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

what about "i"? it's incomplete. now "once" is a beginning and an end all in one word.

Qrratu! Wowness! And you said mine were powerful. You mut have been dizzy when you said that. Amazing work! And you know what? I wouldnt want to post anything more, itd be a challenge alongside yours. I remembered what you said in the Pakhto thread about poems running out. That is so true! Ive got about three more I could share, and then Id have to start writing again ... something I have very little time for nowadays. You know what, I have to refer to my English Lit poetry analysis guides to discover the real meaning in your poem. And grab a dictionary too ... Keep them coming. As for me, I have to work harder

                              Son of Mountains, share awayyyy!
