Hey folks dont divert the attention to her avatar. Your missing the amayzeeng poem! I absolutely loved it. Even though we dont quite experience such a thing, I find it easy to write sometimes. But love comes in many different forms, for different people. I write it for someone I lost, forever. Its quite futile - but its a way of opening the knot that lies within me. Its difficult, but such is life.
You are a very talented young lady! Keep them coming InshaAllah.
Oh, the one I have written in Pakhto is just a few lines - and quite embarassing of a share to be honest. I do have a few English ones, but clearly, this thread is dedicated to Pakhto. I dont mind sharing those though...just free thoughts of mine. How about you Shlombay - you have any?
OH talking of shlombay, Ive had SO much today. The heat is over the top here, and shlombay and salan are our meals nowadays. The yoghurt has gone sour too, like chaka, so you can imagine..yum yum. Want some shlombay, Shlombay?
Erm, okay, at your requests. BUT, like I said, theyre my free thoughts - nothing big. Dont expect too much.
Futility of Longing ....
Night fall comes and I begin to question,
Why there is no one left to trust.
Who am I here for, 'someone' or no one?
Pushed aside like dirt and dust.
Yes, there is One Supreme Being
Who hears my cry in silence,
In darkness alone I am seen,
Torn apart and secluded over memories I reminisce.
It’s a continuous game they play,
Making you the chess piece of their ego and disgust.
Selfish, cold-hearted people if I dare say
When will they realise the value of being just?
Forgotten and isolated as they make you feel,
Seeing through you like you don’t exist.
I have a soft place too, not made of steel,
So don’t break me, I might resist.
Turning a deaf ear on what others believe
You act superior, always taking the lead.
Anger and love, like water and sugar, must be sieved,
Humility and softness is what you need.
Your pride has reduced me to paper and pen,
Your rudeness tells many things untold.
My feelings and tears all trapped within
A heart so small - oh how will it hold?
They say when one door closes, another is opened
Forcing my way through the thickness to reach for the knob
Only to realise the futility of attempts again and again.
Swallowing the hardened knot, I begin to sob.
The silence of the moment tells me to go on,
The coldness of my eyes- the tears shed
Reveal the untold stories of a heart that moans
And longs for the warmness we once shared.
An eye opener for me again and again
That you live for yourself- how selfish a game
Sorrow and sadness from you is all I gain
Never wish for you to be put through the same.
I look around, yearning the sight
Of a face so handsome and full of light.
Only to find unbothered blankness,
A view to eyes so tearful – encircled with darkness.
In a world so big – of hatred and fear
Of selfishness and cold games ever so near
You taught me the beauty and sweetness of love
To seek and maintain friendship like the purity of the dove.
My hand in yours, my pace like yours, we walked and laughed.
Happiness and gratitude for each other’s presence we expressed.
Wishes and dreams we together desired to fulfil,
Like a nightmare to a sweet sleep, they all stood still.
To relive those blissful memories, I forever long.
To bring back the warmth that once shone.
In a world so big, full of laughter and gain,
Why do I find, in your name, only sorrow and pain?
The day when dust became your bed,
The day when I met my eternal dread.
When silence and darkness became your companion,
When my happiness, and hopes met their extinction.
The day when dust became your bed,
The day when millions of tears were shed.
When life became a burden, a daily chore
When enjoyment and leisure were seen no more.
The day when dust became your bed,
The day when memories were my best friend.
When the future seemed so very bleak,
When my mind and body became so weak.
The day when dust became your bed,
The day I walked the path you led.
When we knew our smiles hid the truth,
When we searched the hidden like the sleuth.
The day when dust became your bed,
When I brought back to life, all that you spread
The goodness you taught to implement,
The evil ways you abandoned, a message sent.
The day when dust became your bed,
The day my ignorance met its end.
When screams were heard when your eulogy was wailed,
When the hardness of hearts was made frail.
The day when dust became your bed,
Hope and brightness I forever fed,
To a heart so shattered and left to mend,
With the cure that brings all illness to an end.
Not all that exciting, I know. Just when I feel overloaded - yes, thats the word, I grab the pen. These were the only ones on my hard drive. The others are in books. Anyhow...

Dukesy, Qrratu, NjGirl and MrHidden - thank you for your appreciation.
InshaAllah, I will post others. The one I am working on now is called 'What the Burqa hides'. I was requested to write something for a fundraiser gathering for a non-government organisation which is in the early stages of development. Many suggested a speech, but I chose to tell the story with the sweet language of poetry, to hit everyones emotions. Its basically the tale of an Afghan woman, which we can all relate to, if not personally, then at the very least, the experiences of our mothers and aunts would mirror it. Anyhow...
I actually took the time out and read your poems and I must say Good job. It is great to have someone so talented here.
Keep up the good work and keep them coming.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
