  • Members' Own Poems Written in Pashto

This thread is gonna be for all those poems we/y'all have written that are in Pashto. (Try to translate them, too, if possible, or at least provide transliteration with them.)

Looking forward to reading some :D (I've only one! And it beyond sucks, but I'll share it in some time, ka khairee.)

      I wish I was a poet.
My tribe has produced one of the best poets of all times.

I have written quite a few in English - long long ones.

Pakhto - I once wrote something, but it needs brushing up. Its had its sitting time, I will go back to it and maybe share...my Dad will laugh if I asked for his editing, haha! But I would love to write or express myself in Pakhto more than English...killer.

If we have more (English) writers on the board, Admin Khan said he'll open a forum for us to share our writings there as well But we need to be guaranteed that they'll post their writings there and that the forum will be an active one.

So I'm glad you said you have some English poems! Where have they been? And how come I didn't know about it, dude?! And LONG, you say? lol ... can they beat mine? lollll.

Yeah, me too. I wrote my first Pukhto poem in Dec. 2008, and I haven't looked at it ever since, lol. It's viciously long and un-beautiful, so I'm kinda scared of reading it, haha.

Like, totally! Pukhto is one of those languages in which you can express yourself in miraculous ways. I'm tryina better my Pukhto vocab; hopefully, it'll be soon. I love writing in English, but I'd love to write more in Pukhto as well.

Dude, is that a rhetorical question? Qrratu is asking if anyone can beat her LONG works? (haha!)

...nah, I am kidding. Content wise, I would say, it wouldnt even get close to how good yours would be, my talented lady. Show us when youre ready.

lolll... Oh please! Look who's talking.
My "Dear Lord of the Oppressed" is the longest I've ever written, I think.

Maybe I'll post the silly "love" one I wrote some months ago :P

                Here's a funny one! :P
Pre-post: I am NOT a Pashto poet. It was just a try, but I haven't disowned it yet :D
If I need to post the translation, will do.

                    Thanks, Master Khana!

Nooooooooooooooo!! LOL!! It's not based on personal experiences, lol. It's purely imaginative.
The idea for the tone of the poem came to me after I read poem that a friend of mine had written. I loved the melancholic tone so much I wanted to write something similar.
So, one day while eating dinner, I mentally whispered the words, "Ta laare da bal cha shwe," and then I said them out loud. Next thing I knew, more and more words were flowing in, and before I knew it, I had come up with the whole poem, lol :D

P.S. Look at my Display pic; it says "Pukhtana." And my nick says "QrratuGAI" (not "QrratugEY")

That letter is "khin" ("seen" (?) but with a dot above it and a dot below it), the "kh" sound used in Pukhto/Pukhtana.
