^ i love olives, I am addicted to them. I also love olive oil. I would bathe in olive oil if given a chance.

I lovee them too, olives stored in olive oil, not in brine. Large, fleshy, necessarily with a stone inside, green or black. Then fragrant olive oil with a distinct taste, piece of bread and meal is ready.

Can't beat olives. One reason to go out shopping is when our olive jar gets empty.

I remember Lebanese sandwiches - pita bread, labneh few olives and zatar - the best breakfast. I never liked those sandwiches without olives, too insipid.

Tapenade is probably the only one thning made of olives which I don't like.

I go though a large jar of black olives in week and the ones with brine are ok if you rinse the salt water out of them.

^ yeah.... dates stuffed with almonds (I can but them here - from Iran - sooooo delicious - almost crisp skin, very soft inside...) or almonds served in a bowl with ice cubes. I miss the food from Emirates and Lebanon.

I had forgotten zatar - it's fabulous. That is civilized eating.
Contrast Syrian / Jordanian / Turkish / Lebanese breakfast described above
with American - ICK ! - bacon and syrupy dunked waffles made of
                      the pastiest white flour -
which breakfast will turn out spiritually better people ?

I wanted to add that there are the best
ORGANIC Turkish Olives available from a company in Oakland, CA.

They are sold in glass jars, not the former plastic flat containers
of many Turkish olive brands sold in Turkey AND the U.S. which are also loaded with chemicals, preservatives.

                      These have nothing but
100% Organic Black Olives Edremit type [yummy!]
100 % Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
                      Salt

Such safe olives are fantastic to clean out the liver, where all toxins are stored.
                      Plus so fresh and delicious.

The company is called Delightfully Turkish
and they also have Organic Turkish Apricots and
Organic Turkish Figs - it's the best bet for all these items.

It can be ordered I am sure from ANY store in the US
at least any Whole Foods or better quality market.

Here is the email address if someone wants to order directly from them:

                          so many years. Yum !

Real fresh zatar would be heavenly.
