Fish ... gotta love 'em. I haven't tried much seafood. Prawns, lobster and crab sticks are quite frequently cooked in my house, but I don't eat it. I avoid 'chewy' foods. Though, I know lobster tastes amazing ... I stick to fish. Salmon, Basa, Snapper, Shark and Baramundi (depends how you cook it) are delicious. Talking of seafood, my nephew caught about five on the weekend. So dinner was sorted.
As for the thread, seeing there are some misconceptions on halaal and haraam foods, I will share something in a new thread InshaAllah, addressing this topic.
You don't know what you're missing out on. Lobster is yummmmmyyyyyy
Sea food … sound awesome when u are standing infront of 1oo’s different variaties in seafood resturant. Just keep in mind that there are few things – certain types of water animals – which some scholars exclude from the permission alike Crocodiles, Frogs, Some scholars exclude sea snakes, Otters and turtles … well everything that can cause harm is forbidden. Hence all kinds of food from the sea are permissible, whether they are plants or animals. and Allah Knows better.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Lawful to you is (the pursuit of) water-game and its use for food – for the benefit of yourselves and those who travel…†[al-Maa’idah 5:96].
On halal haram food my approach is to eat whate ever is availabe except pork and other food injurious to health. For islamic ritual you can take the name of Allah and eat it as you find it.
