My parents are effectively Karachiites, so I was raised on spicy food, to a point. But as I've grown whereas my siblings have stuck with spice, I've moved further away from it. Swatis are big on rice and quite honestly, I'm happy with rice and yoghurt or a thin shorwa.
When I first moved to the Arab world, I pitied their lack of kick in their food. Now, I tend to be less enthusiastic with food spiced to the point of being able to launch the next mission to Mars.
I want to taste the meat and veg; not the contents of a Shaan Masala pack.

there is this irani pickled green chillies only...the juice inside is sooo good i could kill either one of you for it. you drink the juice and then feel yours lungs.....i can't find it in the stores anymore.

this is good too as well as the one karachi has posted above. thai chilies are good with vegetables.
I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.
non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

^ I like spicy foods and I usually try to keep it interesting by trying out different blends and cuisines. My fave hot sauce is a Habanero Salsa I have from Ecuador. Tabasco has a great Green Pepper sauce.. even smelling it will make your salivary glands go wild.

I can't handle a lot of spices and masala in food. i wonder whats the point of it...I want to taste what I am eating, rather than the masala that i have put in it. I wonder if Pakistanis and Indians know what real vegetables and meats taste like.. i am sure if you ask them what does 'kofta' taste like, they would point to some masala...
I like very very mild spice like green chillies in food... but not the masala....

^ which specific dishes are you talking about??? i am not sure about indian, but some pakistani dishes are mildly are spiced and others are very heavily spiced. It depends on the dish. Indians tend to use more different masalas and spices then pakistanis

There is a Pakistani restaurant nearby in Southall. It is the only restaurant that we go to and the food is good.
We usually get the mixed grill. It's not spicy at all (mild). I do not mind spice but not when it is excessive and hence takes away from the taste of the food. I am not a fan of burning my taste buds.---
To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice -- since it is bitter for those who follow their
own inclinations and desires.
