For some odd reasons, Landei is considered to be a very prestigious dish in my household. I personally dislike it, and I am willing to choose Mantu over it any day of the week.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

We all have different taste in foods, maybe because they find it very delicious or it's their culture to eat that food..

I wanna know what is the taste of that Landei for me to know why it is so many people don't like that food.

You will choose mantu over Landai? are you kidding me?

why dont you just eat kofta with wacha dodai which is equivalent to Mantu or even more delicious and it also need less cooking efforts than mantu.( i have always thought that mantu is the fancier version of kofta and wacha dodai LOL )

The reason why i dislike mantu is because i have to wait for 5 hours till it gets ready.

It is one of those things you either love it or you simply don't. I have never met any one who doesn't like it. I love the skin. The best is from Ghazi or Kandahar Kakari sheeps. Kakari is very tender and the texture of the mean is nice. Simply the best Pashtun dish ever! I love it. Not every one can handle it, if you eat alot of it, especially the waaaazga. ;-)

Don't like the skin at all. Especially when it still has hair on it sometimes. My uncle likes it that way though...he also cooks the rice with the lamb fat which makes the whole thing sticky and smelly. I personally like my landee with no skin, and the fat trimmed.
