  • What's the IQ of Pashtuns?

Hi, new here. Not a Pashtun.

Just curious to know if a study has been conducted about Pashtun IQ.

No, I don't think so. But this map is somewhat of a general guide

This is interesting schematic because it seems to reflect that IQ is less about raw innate reasoning or memorization but level of educational training. India produces some of the most bright minds yet somehow they're ranking lower than Afghanistan?

In Afghanistan, the number of people taking IQ tests is much lower than say India, but education gulfs in India are much broader than those taking IQ tests in Afghanistan. Afghanistan would reflect a significantly more cloudy representative sample than India. Many other factors are involved here too than can be addressed, but this cannot be a raw intelligence measure.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

IQ testing is pseudo science upheld and considered as science for lack of better alternatives.

I don't know how they do the tests with regards to amount of participants, but Afghanistan may score higher than India simply due to the fact that is population size differences of the two countries (Afghanistan 30 million, India 1 billion).

IQ could be merely a result of educational level. East Asians like Japanese, South Koreans and Chinese are definitely more educated than Afghans and Indians (both countries massively underdeveloped, although India is far more developed, but still is a good majority of Indians don't have access to proper education to say the least, likewise in Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc.)

The IQ distrubtion map is more or less consistent with this map showing illitracy levels throughout the world:

these tests are barely accurate in societies where everyone is provided with a similar level of educational background, let alone places where people have never seen a television set in their lives..what are they going to test them all on?? their ability to plow a field or work a keyboard?

The fact that there are low education rates in Afghanistan might affect the scores. China and other East Asian countries unsurprisingly ranked the highest, but somehow India was shown as having a lower IQ than Afghanistan. This is the map, which happens to include Afghanistan (somehow).

There is no good study of IQ in global context. Sample sizes of most countries were too small. I know the map that someone up there posted. It's been considered inaccurate and the conclusions drawn on too little information.

Incidentally, I'm interested in knowing what people scored on this IQ test. Will share my results if I see at least 5 realistic answers.

The most common and popular Free IQ Test of all time, now online. The test consists in 40 questions of increasing difficulty level. The candidate must choose from a range of symbols to find the one which completes the set. The challenge is to grasp the relevance of the symbols without context and to understand the relationship between them.

Took the test but you have to pay for results. Got one for free? Although, most of the "free iq tests" online are bogus anyway.
