Dr Maurice Bucaille and Quran:

Maurice Bucaille was born to a French parent and, like his family, he grew up a Christian. When he ended his secondary education, he joined Faculty of Medicine, France University. He excelled at medicine until he obtained a BSc degree and worked hard until he rose to fame, becoming the most renowned and cleverest surgeon ever in modern France, but a story happened to change his life completely.

Story of his conversion to Islam:

France is known for its unique interest in archeology and heritage. When French Socialist President François Mitterrand assumed power in 1981, France asked Egypt, late in the eighties, for the mummy of Egypt’s pharaoh so that it would conduct a string of monumental and processing experiments. Actually the body of Egypt’s most notorious tyrant was transferred to France, and, strangely, the French president and his ministers as well as senior officials in the country lined up near the plane carrying the pharaoh’s body and bowed down to him as if he were still alive! After the ceremonies of the royal –like reception to Egypt’s pharaoh were over, the tyrant’s mummy was carried nearly in the same red carpet reception way he received. Then the mummy was transferred to a special wing at the French Monuments Center, and renowned archeologists, surgeons and anatomists started to conduct a study on this mummy in an attempt to delve into its mysteries. The senior surgeon and the scientist in charge of the study on this mummy of the pharaoh was Professor Maurice Bucaille. While the processors were busy making restoration to the mummy, their head (Maurice Bucaille) was thinking otherwise. He was trying to discover how this pharaoh died when, late at night, he concluded his final analyses. The remains of the salt stuck in his body was a shining evidence that he had drowned and that his body was retrived from the sea swiftly after he drowned; it was also obvious that they rushed to mummify his body so that his body would remain intact!! But he (i.e. Maurice Bucaille) puzzled over a question: How did this body- to the exclusion of other mummified bodies of other ancient Egyptians- remain that intact although it was recovered from the sea?” He asked himself. Maurice Bucaille was busy conducting a final report while thinking as to whether the pharaoh’s body was recovered from the sea and mummified immediately after he drowned. But one of his company whispered in his ear, saying” There is no need to rush about this issue, since the Muslims say that this pharaoh did drown”. At first, he vehemently rejected this say and did not believe it, citing that such a discovery would be reached only through sophisticated, modern and accurate computers. Another one accompanying him surprised him more when he told him that the Muslims’ Qu’ran in which they believe narrates the story that says he drowned and that his body remained intact even after he drowned. He got more surprised and kept on asking” Where did the Muslims’ Qu’ran quote these data from while the mummy was not discovered until 1898 AD, i.e. about 200 years only, given that the Qu’ran has been recited by Muslims for over 1400 years, and given also that until a few decades ago the entire mankind including Muslims did not know that the ancient Egyptians had mummified their pharaohs?!.

Maurice Bucaille stayed up all this night gazing at Pharaoh’s body, thinking deeply of what his fellow researcher told him about the Muslims’ Qu’ran explicitly establishing that this body was recovered after drowning, while the Christians’ Gospel (Matthew and Luca ) narrated only the story of pharaoh when he was chasing Messenger Musa( SAWS) without mentioning the fate of his body at all.*

“Is it believable that Mohammed ( SAWS) knew about this over one thousand years ago while I have only just known it ?!” he said to himself .

Maurice spent a sleepless night, and asked for a version of the Torah. He devoted part of his time to reading the Exodus in the Torah which read, “And the water turned to drown the military tools and horses of Pharaoh’s army, chasing all of them until it left nobody”.

But this text only furthered Bukaille’s astonishment; since even Torah did not narrate that the body was recovered and remained intact due to the processing and restoration which it did undergo.

France sent back the mummy to Egypt in a splendid glass coffin. But , since he knew about the story circulated by Muslims on the intactness of this body, he decided to pack his baggage and travel to Saudi Arabia where a medical conference happened to be held with a galaxy of Muslim anatomists attending.
There, told them about his discovery, i.e. that Pharaoh’s body was kept intact even after he drowned. One of the conferees opened the Mos’haf and read out the ayah in which Allah, SWT, said, ” So today We will (safely) deliver you with your body that you may be a sign to the ones succeeding you; and surely many among mankind are indeed heedless of Our signs.” (Yunus, ayah 92).
In his excitement, he stood before the attendants and loudly said, “I have converted to Islam and believed in this Qu’ran”

Bucaille’s Achievements:

Back to France, Maurice Bucaille completely changed and spent ten years only busy conducting a study as to how far the recently scientific facts match that mentioned in the Holy Qu’ran, trying to reassure himself that the Qu’ran has never contradicted with any single scientific fact, so that he eventually came up with the conclusion that Allah, SWT, said of the Qu’ran, “Untruth does not come up to it before (Literally: between its two hands) it nor from behind it; a successive sending down from (One) Ever-Wise, Ever-Praiseworthy.

These years which French Maurice spent conducting this study did bear fruit, after which he came up with a earth shaking book on the Holy Qu’ran which jolted the entire Western states, with the title of the book reading ,” The Bible, The Qu’ran and Science, The Holy Scriptures Examined In The Light Of Modern Knowledge”

All of a sudden, the book sold out , and even hundreds of thousands of it were translated from French to Arabic, English, Indonesian, Persian, Turkish and German, extending to include nearly all East and West bookstores; one has come to see it with any Egyptian, Moroccan or Gulf person in the US.

Mad Reactions:

Some of the Jewish and Christian Clergy, out of malicious hatred, have come to counter the facts which the book established. However, what they wrote was nothing but a futile debate and desperate attempts through devilish suggestions. One of them, by name of Dr. William Campbell, authored a book titled, “Qu’ran and Holy Scripture, in the Light of History and Science” . In this book of his, he wandered and wandered but in the end he failed to achieve anything. More surprisingly, a Western scholar kept on reading the book authored by Bucaille in an attempt to counter it, and by the time he ended it, he had converted to Islam and openly uttered the two parts of the Sahabah!

In the preface of his book, Maurice Bucaille said,” These scientific areas which Qu’ran established to the exclusion of other Scriptures filled me with deep surprise early on, since it never struck my mind to see such a large amount of scientific issues in such a variable and accurate way that they are a mirror image of what has recently been discovered in a book which has existed for more than 13 centuries.!!

He also said,” First, I studied the Holy Qu’ran in a subjective and unbiased way, in an attempt to find by myself that the Qu’ran texts and the givens of the modern science match and do not conflict. Before this study, I earlier knew, through the translated versions of the Qu’ran, that the Qu’ran stated so many natural phenomena. Thanks to the in -depth study of the Arabic text , I managed to gather a list of scientific signs in the Qu’ran, after which I realized that the Qu’ran contains no refutable ayahs, nor did I see scientific ayahs in the Qu’ran which contradict with the recently discovered facts. In the same subjective and unbiased way of research, I scrutinized the Old Testament and Holy Scriptures. Concerning the Old Testament, I needed not go further after I read the Exodus and found no harmony between its texts and the decided scientific givens in our age. Concerning the Holy Scriptures, one can easily read a text in Matthew Gospel which is in stark contrast with that in Luca, and that the latter presents us with matters which does not absolutely go with the modern science as to Man’s life on earth”
Dr. Maurice Bucaille also said, “Anyone who reads the Qu’ran for the first time sees a book which abounds with accurate and easy –to- understand scientific subjects. While one fails to find any contradiction or errors in the Qu’ran, the current Torah abounds with fatal scientist errors. This prompts us to say that if the author of this Qu’ran was a human, then how did he write about facts which never belonged to his age!?”

His book The Bible, The Qu’ran and Science, The Holy Scriptures Examined In The Light Of Modern Knowledge was such a marvelous piece of writing that, in the year 1988, the French Academy awarded him its prize in history.

People say bad things about Allah too...about prophets...deos that make them right? Nope.

The Prophet(pbuh) cmmented this in his Last hajj sermon few months before his demise.

'' .......................i leave behind me two things, the Quran and the Sunnah (Hadith), and if you follow these you will never go astray. All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listened to me directly.*Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people.............................''

The pagans of arab were not that smart compare to people of our time regarding horizons ,phenomenon of how universe acts etc be ause today we ve tech and advancements so Allah had adressed them in a figerative speech they could understand better.
And thats ehats described in hadeeth that those present at time if sermon may not understand things which those coming in later generations would understand better.

The ayags of quran that are taunted are with pretext which those biased taunters have left out...e.g Sun setting in a murky water...thats said in regard to zul qarnain,..that thats what appeared to him not Allah.

Stop acting stupid if you are given explanation for one example that you guys cherry pick and choose for twisting verses of quran without looking into the pretexts.Every ayah is not metaphorical or figurative..just some the example of one i already gave.

Surah e yaseen:
37."A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness.

38.And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise.

39.And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm-leaf.

Verse 36.37 and 36.38 goes togather with each other.Today scientists say that sun is not fixed contrary to previous scientific theories but its spinning as well....quran told it already.
Verse 36:37 refers to the rotation of the earth and the presence of the sun as a central body, causing the disappearance and appearance of the night and day.
Then, Verse 36:38 refers to the lifespan of the sun as all heavenly bodies are destined to survive for a fixed period of time and which cannot be predicted even by the best scientist in the world.* It is only known to Allah.* The words stating "sun runneth unto a resting place for him" means the sun is serving its time and with the passge of time its approaching closer and closer to its "resting place."* The "resting place" of the sun refers to its final destination or its end, as will be on the Day of Judgment.**

The moon too, like all celestial bodies has a fixed life span.* But Verse 36:39 refers to the changing appearance or the different stages of the moon on account of its revolution around the earth and the earth's spinning around its axis (rotation).Next verse i.e 36.40 shows the appearance of moon on first day of islamic calender as old shrivelled pal leaf.

In other words, that last time that the Sun was in its current position in space around the Milky Way, dinosaurs ruled the Earth. in fact, this Sun orbit has only happened 20.4 times since the Sun itself formed 4.6 billion years ago.

Since the Sun is 26,000 light-years from the center of the Milky Way, it has to travel at an astonishing speed of 782,000 km/hour in a circular orbit around the Milky Way center. Just for comparison, the Earth is rotating at a speed of 1,770 km/h, and it’s moving at a speed of 108,000 km/h around the Sun.

It’s estimated that the Sun will continue fusing hydrogen for another 7 billon years or so. In other words, it only has another 31 orbits it can make before it runs out of fuel.

The earth and the heavens are interconnected like two countries under one government, and there are journeys between them. Important necessities for the earth are sent from the heavens; pure spirits travel to the heavens; and evil spirits, in imitation of pure ones, attempt to travel to the heavenly abode.

Physically, these are subtle beings(devils or jinns) made of smokeless fire. However, they will certainly be repulsed and repelled, for by nature, they are evil and unclean. As the silence and tranquility, the order and serene regularity of the heavens, and their vastness and radiance show, their inhabitants are not like those of the earth; they are all obedient to God and do whatever He commands them. There is nothing to cause quarrels or disputes among them because they are innocent, their realm is vast, their nature is pure, and their stations are fixed. So when devils or evil spiritual beings attempt to ascend to the heavens, the pure inhabitants there are mobilized to repel them.


The interpreters of the Quran did not all agree that the meaning of 'flaming fire' refers to a star; rather some of them interpreted it to mean a flame of fire. For instance Al-Baydhaawi interpreted the verse in which Allaah Says (what means):
and is pursued by a clear burning flame [Quran 15:18], saying that '"burning flame" means a shining flaming fire, and it could refer to a star, or a spearhead, because of its shining.'

The word 'Star' in Arabic refers to many things: for instance, they call 'a planet' a 'star'.Ibn Manthoor said:
'The Arabs call 'a star' anything which goes up and raises (like planets)’ Therefore, it is not necessary to understand the statements of the interpreters of the Quran who said that 'flaming fire' refers to a star, by the astronomical definition of a star. That is why Ash-Shawkaani interpreted the saying of Allaah (what means) and is pursued by a clear burning flame by a star which passed by, and that the stars which project are not among the fixed stars [which appear to be constant to another star or to someone who sees it] but among the stars which are not fixed.

If we presume that the meaning of 'flaming fire' is a star which is not fixed, then the fact that the stars are shooting the devils, does not necessarily mean that they move "out of the blue",Indeed it is confirmed in the Quran that stars descend, Allaah Says (what means): (By the star when it descends) [Quran 53:1].
Adh-Dhahhaak interpreted this verse by saying ,When Allaah shoots the devils with it.

Since wisdom requires the announcement of this elevated contest, there will surely be a sign for it. However, other than the fact that some stars are being used as "missiles" against the devils, no event among those of the atmosphere and heavens seems to be appropriate to this announcement. For it is evident how suitable these stellar events are for the repulsion of the devils, events that resemble missiles and rockets fired from the formidable bastions of high castles. Furthermore, unlike other events that take place in the heavens, no other function is known for such stellar events. In addition, this function has been widely recognized since the time of Adam, and witnessed by those who know the reality of things and events.

Like angels and other creatures, there are also many different varieties of stars. Some are extremely small, and some are extremely large. Everything that shines in the sky can be called a star. One sort of star is that which the Majestic Creator, the Gracious Maker, has created as a sort of jewel on the face of the sky or like the shining fruit of a vast tree. He has also made them places of excursion or mounts or dwelling-places for His angels. He has made one sort of small star a missile to drive off devils and kill them. Thus, firing these shooting stars to repulse devils may have three meanings:

The first:

It is a sign that there is a contest (among conscious beings) in the vastest sphere of existence.

The second:

It indicates that in the heavens there are watchful guards and obedient inhabitants, i.e., Divine forces, who do not like the earthly evil-doers to mix with and eavesdrop on them.

The third:

The spying devils, who are representatives of the foulness and wickedness of the earth, attempt to soil the clean and pure realm of the heavens inhabited by pure beings, and spy on the conversations of their inhabitants in the name of evil spirits (disbelieving jinn and their human companions who try to mislead people, particularly through sorcery, medium-ship, and soothsaying). Shooting stars are fired to prevent these and to repulse them from the doors of the heavens (See*The Words, "The 15th*Word," 192–199).

At this point, one might ask what some commonly observed and scientifically verified astronomical events might signify, such as a meteor shower. The Perseid meteor shower, for example, which is observed almost every year, suggests that such meteors are shot for certain, yet unknown, important purposes. The observations made in 1993, for example, demonstrate the fact that the structure of the shower is yet little understood.

According to information given by the International Meteor Organization about the events of the 1993 shower (Astronomy, October 1993), the first results posted for the night of August 11th*– 12th*of that year came from Japan. Up to 20:30 UT on *August 11th, the meteor rates were found to be normal, and a zenithal hourly rate (ZHR) of 40 meteors per hour (m/h) was tentatively assigned to the shower at that time.

However, preliminary data from European observers indicated that the rates gradually increased to a ZHR of the order of 100 m/h between 20:00 UT on August 11th*and 01:00 UT onAugust 12th. Observers in France also reported a noticeable increase in rates after 00:30 UT, August 12th, with the rate being about twice the 'normal' rate. The rates continued to climb between 01:00 and 03:00 UT, and a preliminary ZHR of 200–250 m/h was ascribed to this period. The rates appeared to reach a maximum between 03:00 and 03:30 UT; the ZHR at its maximum was estimated to be of the order of 500 m/h. Later observations from the Canary Islands indicated that the rates began to decline after 04:00 UT.

Higher than normal rates were also reported by many observers in the United States and Japan. As observed by Martin Beech, in*Astronomy, 1993 (pg 11), the results clearly indicated that the shower did not behave as predicted. Speculation about a possible meteor storm proved incorrect. Another unexpected feature in 1993 was the high number of bright fireballs observed. Observers reported something like five times the normal level of Perseid fireballs on the night of August 11th*– 12th. The Perseid shower once again demonstrated how difficult it is to predict meteor shower activity.

A. Cressy Morrison (p. 100) mentions, as a typical human characteristic, the reluctance to give up fixed ideas and the stubborn resistance to accepting unfamiliar truths. The early Greeks knew that the earth was spherical, but it took two thousand years to convince (Western) men that this fact was true. New ideas encounter opposition, ridicule and abuse, but truth survives and is verified. Neither scientific studies nor developments in science can offer any excuse not to accept God. What we observe in nature, and what we obtain from it, must encourage us to know Him more closely and to see the strong bridge between science and religion, the world and the Hereafter, and between reason and spirit.
