OK let me continue from here

COMA-is a profound state of unconsciousness. A person in a coma cannot be awakened, fails to respond normally to pain, light or sound, does not have sleep-wake cycles, and does not take voluntary actions. When coma leads to death it is called irreversible coma-BRAIN DEATH.

This is due to paralysis of the vital centers of the brain stem.

            Causes of coma-

1)Compression of the brain-In injuries like skull fracture also hemorrhage
2)Disease of the brain-Tumor, abcesses or epilepsy, heat stroke
3)Poisons-Opium, barbiturates, alochol, dhatura produce coma
4)Poisons within body produced in certain diseases llike tularemia, uremia and ketoacidosis can cause coma.

What are the clinical features of coma

-There is increasing stupor leading to complete insensibility with no adequate response to either external or internal stimuli
-Sphincters of body are relaxed and incontinence of urine and feces
            -Pupil insensible to light
            -Reflexes are lost
            -Pulse is slow and weak
            -Breathing is slow and irregular
-Mucus is collected in air passages usually called death rattle or march to death

            AUTOPSY FINDINGS

Injuries to the skull bones or brain and consequent effusion of blood into the cranial cavity maybe present. Brain and its membrane are congested.

Hemorrhages within the cranium de to disease are found within the membrane or within the brain substance. But hemorrhage due to trauma may be extradural, intradural or subarachnoid (these are layers of meninges).

Right side of heart is full and left side is empty

Lungs and venous system are engorged with blood but not so much as in death from asphyxia

Forensic medicine is a proper branch of medicine, in Pakistan they make you study it completely, whereas in other countries it is not gone into so much depth. Like forensic medicine includes medical ethics, autopsy and how death occurs and the stages of it. The rest is a bit too much extra i think, But u still should know it.

Later on you can specialise as a forensic pathologist who goes into more detail in forensic medicine

^ Ya you have to complete your undergrad with the proper prerequisite for medical school.

Complete 4 years of medical school. And while you are doing your residency/fellowship, you then do your specialization in Forensic Medicine. That takes about 3-7 years to complete
