I am more interested in what actually is being conducted by institutions, executives, administrators and interest groups and lobbyists.

Because that's where the action is.

I've done four of those units (you will courses?). All the educators were athiests but to be very honest, Muslims were not the target of their ridicule. My non-Muslim friends would, after every lecture, look at me and say: That was the hardest smack in my face so far. We'd be so undecisive whether to go to class or not, and I felt at times that I am overreacting among non-Muslims, but when the class would come to an end, they were the first to leave and show no sign of interest. I had an atheist professor for a unit called 'Human Evolution' and another for 'Forensic Genetics'. The first three classes, I literally broke into tears when I got home not only because of the content, but the way the teachers were dealing with us as a class, it was very unprofessional. Almost as if they wanted to hit us on a personal level. For me, the last straw came when the laboratory assistant instructed me to remove my scarf because it was a threat to my safety if the buildng caught fire (?!?). I guess every course is like that. Th practical work we wait for only starts towards the mddle or end of your second year, depending on the duration of your degree.

Hey, you shouldn't feel guilty. But as they say, learning of others experiences reduces our own burden and pain. My post was just a gist of what actually happened. There's too much detail to it that would take a while explaining. But as much as it hurt me, I still find humour in her words. My scarf is a threat to my security if the building caught fire ... what a joke. I applied for another univiersity in the last hour of the application date (the semester had already begun, three weeks into it as well) and Alhamdulillah I got accepted.

Bachelor is 3 years. Master usually 1, in some cases 2. I am finishing second year of Bachelor.

We're the same. The standard for a Bachelor is three years. Double degrees are four years. The longest degree is Medicine; seven years, followed by Law which is six years. These are undergraduate courses I am referring to.

What?! 7 years of intense brutal Medicine?!!!

for medicine this is our curriculum:

4 years of Bachelor (mostly in Pre-Medicine)
you can choose to do 2 years of Masters (it is actually preferable...it gives your a higher chance to get accepted)

then you wait 2-5 years to get accepted into medical school

                  4 years of Medical School
3-7 years of Residency/Fellowship------Residency is brutal. You have to be at the Emergency Room for at least 12 hours...and this is usually for 3 years

^I tought the bachelor/Master system was international. We can also partake in exchange programms or study a year in an American university.

You are talking about a bachelors degree in non-academic educational facilities. Academic degrees in Western Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand, USA & Canada are practically the same. Its just a matter of which institution you graduate from. There are private and prestigious institutions and there are less fancy government funded ones.

But here in Europe the college degrees of America are not seen as university level degrees.

^Yes, not all are accepted. It depends degree to degree, institution to institution. The best way to find out, is talk to the administration, they will let you know if it is accepted or not.

Its a non-academic degree. We have such institutions over here in Holland. They are called "HBO". Higher vocational education. They are non-academic institutions specialized in producing professionals for the job market of higher standard. But they are not academics. They are praxis oriented.
