I have also read "apna grebaan chaak"...I was quite shocked when i read about it. His mother was indeed a qadiani, so was half of his family. There was some great confusion/conflict in his family, iqbal himself was devout sunni and told his son in wasiat to live strictly as sunni.

That is not correct. According to Ahmadiya (Qadiani) sources, he was associated with Qadianism till 1931. But according to anti-Qadiani sources, his relation with Ahmadiya movement lasted till 1908. I will concur with what the Qadianis say. In the last years of his life, he turned against Qadianisn---and that for very practical/pragmatic reasons.

That is because it was during his last years that opposition to Qadianism started in the general Muslim clergy. By that time, he had invested so much in Islam through his poetry that continued adherence to Ahmadi beliefs would have costed him much in terms of political and ideological influence (which ultimately translates to material gains as we all know).

His grandson Munib Iqbal once said had he been appointed to Punjab's legislative assembly he would not have turned in his last years to what he was. He seemed to have rivalry with Choudri Sir Zafarullah Khan the Qadiani bureaucrat/politician and author of Pakistan Resolution whom Jannah had appointed as foreign minister (of the new found land of Isalm).

And these kind of people were leading hindostani muslims? I dont think jinnah was able to recite holy quran. His speeches were in english to common people, what kind of drama was this?
