A google search is never satisfying for something like 'home remedies for acne or scarring'. So who do we trust with our products? Surely, you can always pick up Paula Begoun's guide, but I find we always lean towards immediate testimonials. So, here are some of mine.

    Recipe One:

2 cups of dry milk powder
    1 tbsp honey
    1 tbsp fresh milk
    1 tbsp turmeric
    1 tbsp almond meal

The above measurements are enough to last you more than a fortnight even if you were to use it morning and evening. Be sure not to make so much as it may end up stale within a few weeks. I store mine in a glass jar in the fridge. Nothing better than applying a cold mask to your face in the morning. And no, it doesn't leave any yellow marks.

What can you do with it?

Apply it as a dry/clay mask and wash it off with cold water; or
Apply it as a scrub and massage the area thoroughly.

    What does it work for?

    Restores your complexion
    Reduces and prevents acne
Moisturizes the area, you find you don't need lotion
Leaves your body glowing and over time, shades lighter

And finally, it doesn't leave a foamy, soapy, bitter taste it if trickles between your lips. It's sweet as ever. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Any questions, be sure to ask.

Apply on face as a scrub/mask and wash off with warm water

    What does it work for?

    Prevents acne

    Moisturizes

      Recipe Three:

      1tbsp sesame oil
      1tbsp olive oil
      1tbsp coconut oil

What can you do with it?

Warm the oil, preferably in a saucepan (I'd avoid the microwave). Apply with a cotton bud to the scalp. Remember to relax while doing this. Or, you can get a sibling or a friend to do it for you. Close your eyes, sit back and zone out. Depending on how quickly the oil 'dries' or is absorbed, wash your hair as normal.

      What does it work for?

Restores shine and elasticity to hair. Your hair will feel a lot softer and lighter (despite the volume) after applying this. One of the best oil hair treatments I have experimented with.

You will see the results over a long time. I've been using this particular one for two months now, and I have noticed changes, or preventions at the very least, so it's not something you should be looking out for after the first use. At that stage, it is just something rejuvenating for your skin, and probably psychological too, anything you notice.

        You're most welcome Samima =)

            Gum Problems

If you have any kind of gum problems such as receding gums, bleeding gums, or sore gums, then this is for you.

Mix equal amounts of: olive oil, mustard oil, black seed oil, and almond oil.

Keep a bottle of this mixture in your bathroom. After you've brushed your teeth every night, take a small sip of the oil mixture and rinse your mouth with it. Swirl it around in your mouth and try to pass it in between your teeth as well.

Then spit it out. It's best not to swallow it because some say it has a detoxifying effect on the body, so those toxins should not be re-ingested.

Within about 6 weeks you should see major improvements. Smaller, yet noticeable improvements may appear within a week.

I just made some more as I ran out of it and decided to share that you can increase the quantity of fresh milk. This recipe says one table spoon, you could go for three or four (with that amount of dry milk). Also, because I noticed it goes off very quickly, if you leave it out (in the summer heat here at least) you should make smaller amounts. I changed the two cups of dry milk to one and those measurements work fine. It depends on how you desire to use it. For instance, for a clay-like mask, the above should be fine; if you want to use it like a body/face scrub, then with one cup of dry milk the results are much better.

And, the point that brought me back to this thread, this works wonders with acne prevention. I suggest you try it girls. You won't be disappointed.

                          ^ Baghal kashi?

Okay so for those of you who feel a cold coming on, I have two. I went from a girl who got sick a lot, to one that doesn't, so listen up closely lol:

Organic lemon (oranges, mandarins work well too, but lemon better). You want organic, and you want to wash it well. Then cut the ends off the very ends off (where the peel is thickened) and put it in a cup. Then cut the lemon in half, squeeze out the juice into the cup, and throw in the what's left (the peel with the insides). Add water, let it soak for a little bit, and drink. Do this frequently. It tastes much better than water anyway (to me).

Also, another little trick that may or may not work (works for me 70% of the time, told my brother and friend about it-they said it works, placebo effect? Don't know). If you feel a cold coming on, mix 1/4 lukewarm water 3/4 hydrogen peroxide (3%) and put a couple drops in each ear.

That sounds awesome. Excuse my ignorance, is almond meal and almond flour synonymous? I Looked it up and it seems to be used interchangeably.

Yes, Fatima, they are the same thing.

I know this sounds so: she doesn't know her thing kinda thing, but just make your mixture depending on your needs. Those measurements are just a standard, not a hard and fast rule. The mixture should be runny as you have to bear in mind you're keeping it in the fridge and so when it 'sets' it is bound to go hard. It should be both spreadable and stand able.

It works wonders, I tell you.
