    Dearest Amna,

Migraine has nothing to do with eating (non)healthy food.

I have not found any medicine that has helped. The migraine attacks I have can last for several days (2-3 days). I have to isolate myself from everyone and everything. Blurry vision (I can't stand light and sound!), severe headache, nausea...classic symptoms.

Fortunately I haven't had migraine since summer/ramadan. THANK ALLAH!

migraine makes my life miserable! =[

Reconcile your conscious with your unconscious.

when i get blurry vision i can't see... it can happen to me when i am driving, working, sleeping, eating, outside, inside, anywhere!... then i just stop everything like a paralyzed person and just go to my bed. i try to close my eyes and make sure i turn off all the lights and sounds and draw curtains... light and sound make me want to go hit my head to the wall... i also suffer from short term memory loss until it is over...

I have had something similar to this. I hadn't had them in a very long time, and thought they were something of the past, until the end of August, during Ramadan. I was on a trip, but on my way home. I was walking on the beach with my child, and up by the cliffs I saw a path with a bench, and wanted to tell her about it, but my brain and my voice couldn't connect. It was very odd. Finally I was able to say; "Something scary is happening to me." But then I couldn't speak again, so I just stopped trying. My child got worried because I would start to speak, and then stop. By the time we got to the car it was better. But after I started driving then came the spots, the blurry vision, the confusion. It wasn't good, because I was not alone in the car. I knew I needed to make it to the hotel.

I started repeating "B-ismi-llahi- r-rahmani-r-rahimi" over and over again. I made it to the hotel, without having an accident, and checked in, went to the room and collapsed on the bed and slept many hours.

When I awoke the next morning I was OK. But at the same time in the afternoon it happened again. Then I went to a hospital. The doctor said I had classic Migraine symtoms and said if the headache is not so severe I should just take Tylenol but if it is severe then he gave me a prescription for Sumatriptan or Imitrex. I did have one more episode a few days later, after getting home.

Last week my doctor arranged for me to have an MRI, which was very strange. I have not yet seen the results.

I think one of the triggers for me was stress related, and lack of sleep. My Islamic teacher said that dehydration from Ramadan could have caused it, and she said I should not fast while on a trip. It was the first time during Ramadan that I experienced any difficulties.
oh my!... i can hear myself speak because i have gone through similar situations. I thought i was alone in all of this , suffering from this...

i have been to hospital many times because of severe headache and the doctor did an MRI jus to make sure... the results were fine, he even laughed and said " you have a nice, juicy , healthy brain" nothing is wrong. he just told me that your migraine could be stomach induced but the stress level in ur life is the one effecting ur stomach...

nonetheless, i have not been able to find a cure for it... it just happens whenever , wherever it wants to... and it ends with an episode pain, frustration, and uncertainty...
