well bmi and body fat measurement both shows different things, bmi take into account your height and weight, generally shows your over all physique.

i have not checked my body fat percentage, i bought a digital weight scale which have the option to check body fat percentage, but i only used it to check weight, and not bothered to check the other functionalities. i will check it as soon as possible.

BMI is flawed because muscle weighs more than fat. A person can be heavy, but not necessarily fat.

Height 6', bmi 29.2. The BMI looks high... I'm not going to deny I'm out of shape, but nowhere near obese This is why it's flawed.

I wish. More like a bit overweight, but clear that the guy used to go to the gym once upon a time. I used to bench press 225 lbs. That was a while ago. Now I bench press one cell phone.

You're very lean my friend. At 6'3'' and only 19 bmi... very lean. It's good, but you can afford to gain weight. Good height as well.

yes, gaining weight and putting some lean muscle is always my goal, currently i am 70 kg and my goal is 80, but no fat only lean muscle.
the problem is gaining weight is as must difficult as loosing weight, we are known as hard gainer, a year ago i used to be skinny, but now i am slim and satisfied. our metabolisam rate is very high, we burn too much calorie futile even while resting or sleeping. nowadays i am eating roughly 3000 calories a day but no more gain is happening. i ad to increase my intake to make it happen

My BMI is 25, bordering on overweight but still normal.

Wish to lose some fat and gain some muscle but not too bothered if I'm healthy.

In many cases BMI is not a good indicator of whether a person is at a healthy weight or not,so too much importance cannot be attached to it.In my personal experience, I have found my BMI to show me as overweight whereas I am not really .

24.8. I want to bring it down to 18ish and then gain muscle. Because this entire bmi thingy being inaccurate thing is pretty accurate.

so are you progressing? or stuck? it will be very hard to bring it down to 18 but a continuous torture to maintain it

I had to delete my initial response because I realized I was giving too much personal info out. Anyways, the point that I was making was women are unattractive if they're fat. Also if they're too skinny. There's a fine balance. Slim is certainly good.

Why slim down and gain muscle after? Are you trying to be muscular?

I'm not a fitness advisor, but I think you're probably better off picking a target first, and then going for it, instead of this unusual 2 step program.

Gaining weight and losing weight in rapid succession is not good for your health.

when you cut down on fat, the muscle come to surface, people working on six packs actually working on burning belly fats, which expose their underline muscle.
