    I've heard people ... and firm believers in what they say...that these pharmaceutical companies would never want to cure diabetes as so many people rely on these drugs for life...everything is a business... and sadly our world is usually geared in the monetary direction, so it's not something hard to believe.

    There is a buncha homeopathic stuff against diabetes.. I remember my grandfather (Khoday de wabakhshi) sent my uncle some medicine from India.. it was orange, yellow and brown little balls.. and my uncle took those for some time and he's now cured =) I don't know what they're called or what they consist of.. but I'm sure there's a bunch of homeopathic stuff out there..

        Iqra, as far as I know the diabetes, its one form IDDM can be cured by one or another way and a permanent source for insulin can be produced anyway. Perhaps in coming years but for NIDDM it seems imposible in coming 50 years at least.
        But as far as pharmaceuticals are concerned, ya they can craete some hurdles, by not supporting reesarch in this area, however, there are many independent research groups working on diabetes and therefore it does not seem very logicle.
