@ Dr. Dreamer....i have noticed that genetically, people originally from places like Central Asia (like Afghans) and South Asia, are very prone to acne. What do you think?

Majority of Afghans, Pakistanis, Indians whom i know, have acne.

I dont see acne very much with Caucasians, Hispanics, Oriental Asians

I have seen many caucasians with acne.. I sat in on a dermatology clinic and you see all sorts there... My maternal uncle had back achne as do i.... Guess my skin is super sensitive to all that testosterone floating about :P

The testosterone produced if your skin is sensitive to it ( here genetics kick in) will start 2 react by making its sebacious glands 2 go in2 overdrive 2 produce more sebum thereby allowing the bacteria which causes achne to thrive and multiply... the sebum blocks up the pores and the bug increases its numbers and hey presto you have achne

severe achne shld be treated by retinoids
sunlight and antibiotics are also good as is benzyl peroxide
