It doesn't exactly help matters when we have these thugs 'policing' the country...

good news kidos...trash bins have been distributed all over the main roads of kabul. i don't know how long they have been there for but i noticed them last week. the sad part is the fact that no one actually uses them. instead, it's used as a nice spot to hide in while playing hide and seek by the kids who panhandle all through the city.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

I give the people of Kabul some credit in that their city went from a population of 500,000 to over 4.5 Million people in less than 10 years. Almost all of the influx was from refugees from other provinces.

I have hope though that things will change around for the better eventually.

            Good news.

            NSPs Start In Kabul's
            11th Precinct

Kabul Mayor Eng. Mohammad Yonus Nowandesh said that this project will
cover the laying of concrete side sewage systems, greenery and the
planting of flowers on sub-roads. It will be largely financed by the
Japanese Government while 35% of the costs will be met by the residents
of the 11th precinct, Kabul city. According to a BIA report, opening this
project Eng. Nawandesh said that before starting the work we shall hold
meetings with the residents, influential mosque imams and elders of this
precinct so as to encourage them to participate at the reconstruction of
            their residential areas.

Fortunately, he added that the people are taking an active part and we
are moving with an understanding. For this very reason we have named
this project: 'The Solidarity Projects of Kabul' and we think that the active
cooperation of the people is a must for the success of the project. We
requested the international community to assist us in this process
and the Japanese government have promised their cooperation in this
project while some other countries will hopefully assist us in this program
as well. This project has been implemented by HABITAT with the
cooperation of the people. He noted that under this project around
1,000 labourers have received such training of so far 250 labourers have
received such training which will help them ensure their safety during the
            work.

The grammar in that article was so bad I had to edit most of it. Couldn't fix the last sentence though.
NSP stands for National Solidarity Programme. Afghan National Solidarity Programme - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This isn't huge but atleast its something.
