@Srinivas

Thanks for your valuable comment and it is much appreciated.

The Pakistani-military connected site defence.pk has damaged Bangladesh's image heavily promoting the lie that Bangladesh is under de facto Indian control - a total lie which can easily be refuted given glaringly obvious facts.

This site is also playing a part in poisioning relationships between Bangladesh and its giant neighbour, India. Who benefits? The Pakistani military of course and its assets and proxies such as Jamaat e Islami.

    Q&A

    1. Why waste time speaking about defence.pk? It's a low-quality forum for trolls.

Defence.pk has a facebook page of 2.3 million followers (likes). If the population of Pakistan is let's say 200 million then that is 1% of the total population. If however we include only the elite part of the population which can speak English and has internet access, then defence.pk is followed by many of the Pakistani middle class and definitely by many of the elite or those connected to influential people.

It's 2.3 million likes are more than the 1.9 million of Pakistan's second largest party, the PTI or the under 0.5 million of the ruling PML-N.

In a world where social media is increasingly important it is dangerous to allow a military-aligned propaganda forum such as defence.pk promote false propaganda and narratives of the situation in Bangladesh in order to create animosity between Bangladesh and India.

    2. The power of social media.

Social media is very influential. During the trial and subsequent execution of Qader Molla, twitter hashtags in support of this Jamaati leader were in the top 10 in the world, primarily due to controversial Turkish "Islamist", Adnan Oktar.

    Adnan Oktar.

Oktar's version of "Islam" includes the use of attractive young female models in his programmes.

This was from Turkey, a country which is the most fervently pro-Pakistan country in the world, and where people know nothing about Bangladesh but yet are interfering in the domestic affairs of Bangladesh, supporting a political leader, Qader Molla, but turning a blind eye to the hundreds of thousands of Muslim Bengalis massacred by Pakistan and Jamaat e Islami.
For the Turkish, Saudi, Arab, "Muslim" Brotherhood "Islamists", the suffering and deaths of Muslim Bengali civilians is irrelevant. These people can be murdered for the sake of Pakistan.

    - The Turkish government in the form of their foreign minister violated diplomatic protocol and supported Qader Molla and even contacted the Saudi foreign minister, where Bangladesh has 2 million workers who send vital remittances to Bangladesh, a poor country.

Davutoğlu also spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal, US Secretary of State John Kerry and British Foreign Secretary William Hague in an effort to prevent the execution of the opposition leader
    http://www.todayszaman.com/news-3339...c-mistake.html

Turkish prime minister (previous foreign minister), Davutoglu who has acquired notoriety for his anti-Bangladeshi behaviour.

    - Pro AKP-Turks also physically attacked the Bangladeshi embassy in Ankara, with *apparently* there not being a sufficient police presence at the time.

If the Turkish regime cannot ensure the physical security of foreign embassies that will cause problems for it. Most likely Erdogan's regime allowed for the Bangladeshi embassy to be attacked as part of a campaign of bullying Bangladesh.

Also, Turkish sympathisers of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in protest against the execution threw eggs and bricks at the Bangladesh embassy in Ankara and staged demonstration in front of the Istanbul mission.

Imagine if Bangladesh phoned Saudi Arabia to speak about an internal affair of Turkey!!!

    3. Jamaat e Islami's war against Bangladesh

Pakistan has never reconciled itself to an independent Bangladesh. It is bitter over its defeat in 1971. It wants revenge against India but also it wants "friendship" with Bangladesh.

What that "friendship" means is that Bangladesh is a crypto-Pakistani state where emotionally Bangladeshis have a degree of "Pakistaniyaat" in them, which includes hatred for "evil Hindu India".

It also means that Bangladesh must act on behalf of Pakistani interests rather than seeing Pakistan as just another Muslim country like Egypt, Kazakhstan etc. So a few years ago when Bangladesh opposed certain EU changes to rules regarding relaxing import tariffs on Pakistani goods as it would have effected Bangladeshi businesses, the Pakistani media went beserk attacking Bangladesh, completely ignoring the Indonesian opposition to Pakistani goods not receiving preferential treatment when in fact Indonesia wanted a wider list of Pakistani goods not receiving preferential treatment thus adopting a position far more against Pakistani interests than Bangladesh.

This is because in the eyes of Pakistan, Bangladesh is not an independent state but the former "east Pakistan", and must be "friends" thus do whatever benefits Pakistan, whereas Indonesia acting for its own national interests is fine.

Jamaat e Islami is a tool of Pakistan and lobbies against Bangladesh in the Muslim world including in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

    - The Saudis no longer recruit new workers from Bangladesh due to the Pakistani-Jamaati lobbying.

    - The Turks have refused to sell certain military products to Bangladesh due to Jamaati lobbying.

    - So Bangladesh does not get military equipment as good as it could due to Jamaati lobbying (the poster on facebook above made a mistake, no Bangladeshi minister said anything rude about Turkey but many Turkish officials including the president, prime minister, foreign minister, justice minister all attacked Bangladesh on the Qader Molla issue).

    Who does that benefit?

If it would benefit anyone it would be the "evil Hindu India", as it means Bangladesh - due to Jamaatis - is militarily weaker than it could be.

In my next post I will talk about Jamaat and its influence on Saudi Arabia.

Bengal_Tiger some of the people who regularly do the propaganda are from Jamaati-e-islami party and their comments are aligned to the ideology of that party.

They regularly try to portray Awami League as anti BD. When asked about logic and reasoning they will just disappear from there.

They do post lot of propaganda material against Awami league and recently they are against BNP as well.

When Jamaat started movement in BD last year these guys are very active in posting the pro Jamaati Islami material in that site as well.

Anyone in BD who opposes their ideology will be painted as anti BD, pro India and also secular which means anti Islam.

        4. Jamaat and Saudi Arabia.

The Jamaat has cultivated ties with the Saudi regime since the days of Maudoodi who was liked by the then "king", Faisal. After Bangladeshi independence, the Jamaat went to the gulf and told the Arabs that Bangladesh is occupied by Hindus and XYZ was happening to Muslim holy places. All lies.

The Saudi regime are anti-Awami League and whenever Hasina goes in to power they apply sanctions on Bangladesh in the form of blocking the recruitment of more workers from Bangladesh.

Saudi beating Bangladeshi. The Saudi regime is extremely anti-Bangladesh, is ideologically opposed to its existence as an independent state and also organizes police harassment of Bangladeshi workers unreported in the international media.

The Economist published a famous article on this Saudi bullying of Bangladesh:

        http://www.economist.com/blogs/banya...d-saudi-arabia

Also on a personal note, when I did Hajj two years ago, my cousin in Medina told me Bangladeshi workers would be looked out for or physically harassed, assaulted by Saudi police when the Awami League government did something the Saudis (i.e. Pakistan/Jamaat) did not like i.e. not being subservient to Pakistan. This abuse of Bangladeshi workers for the sake of Jamaat/Pakistan is not known by the international media because they cannot interview them as they would immediately be deported.

        - The Saudis are massive funders of Jamaat, which is a terrorist group and a threat to India.

Recently the Saudi regime gave 0.2 million visas to Indians.

Over 2,20,000 Indians, mostly domestic helpers and labourers, have been granted visas by Saudi Arabia in one month, officials said.

        http://www.business-standard.com/art...0101193_1.html

So 0.2 million people from "Hindu" India receive visas whilst people from Muslim Bangladesh are banned.

This all because of Jamaati lobbying?

Does this help the Muslims of Bangladesh, if 0.2 million Indians (mainly Hindu presumably) get jobs in Saudi whilst Bangladeshis stay unemployed?

It makes Muslim Bangladesh weaker against "Hindu" India.

Turkey banning arms sales to Bangladesh also makes Muslim Bangladesh weaker against "Hindu" India.

All this because of Jamaatis (the Jamaat e Islami have strong ties with Erdogan's AKP and its predecessor the Refah Partisi).

So what the Indian posters on defence.pk do not realize is that Jamaatis are actually helping to make India stronger and Bangladesh weaker.

        5. Defence.pk propaganda

If any of the "Bangladeshi" Jamaatis went on a normal non-Pakistani controlled format such as:

        - Youtube
        - Skyscraper city
        - Bangla cricket
        - Alalodulal (main Bangladeshi site devoted to domestic politics in the English language, with 5,000+ subscribers)

they would be silenced by the vast majority of regular Bangladeshis who are fully aware of Jamaat e Islami's war crimes and atrocities.

It is only natural that they hide and seek refuge on a Pakistani military forum where they are given full license to abuse normal Bangladeshis and anyone who disagrees with them, e.g. insult their families, call them "Awami leaguer", "Indian slave".

The dangerous thing is that the educated Indians who do read this forum which has 2 million facebook likes might fall for the Pakistani trap of mutual hatred between Bangladesh and India.

These Jamaatis have monopolized the narrative and discussion of Bangladeshi affairs on that propaganda forum and are now also calling for terrorism against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh and India should work together against the Jamaati terror threat.

India also needs to tell Saudi Arabia, to stay away from Indian regional affairs, Bangladesh is a neighbour of India and what affects Bangladesh affects India.

India does not sponsor groups which are a threat to Saudi interests in Saudi's neighbours such as Yemen, Iraq, Bahrain etc so Saudi must do the same.

Prime minister Modi must tell Saudi Arabia to stop interfering in Bangladesh and supporting anti-Hindu terrorists, Jamaat e Islami in Bangladesh.

Please feel free to ask any more questions about Bangladesh and get the real picture of what is happening there and not the false propagandized account and pro-Pakistan narrative from the defence.pk propaganda site.

          1. Jamaat e Islami is controlled by Pakistan.

During the 1971 war the Pakistani army said Bengalis were Hindu and "east Pakistan" was being overrun by Hindus.

Now with an independent Bangladesh and the whole world knowing Bangladeshis are Muslim, they cannot say Bengalis are Hindu but can instead say is it is controlled indirectly by "evil Hindu India".

Facts such as Bangladesh being China's 2nd biggest purchaser of arms, Bangladesh going to court against India on water issues are conveniently ignored.

          2. Jamaat e Islami is a party with little support in Bangladesh. What support it does enjoy is partly due to huge Saudi funding and Saudi pressure on the Bangladeshi government.

          3. That sub-forum is boring and repetitive. Every day there is nothing but the same old boring content of "Awami", "RAW" (Indian secret service) etc, etc ad nauseum.

This has led Indian posters to question the emotional and mental health of the "Bangladeshi" posters on that sub-forum, and even some Indian posters think the Hasina government works for India (she doesn't work for India, but she works with India i.e. they have certain common enemies).

Bangladesh and India are neighbours. India is a nuclear power with a massive economy and market of 1 billion + people. Can Bangladesh ever take India on militarily?

          No.

Do we - normal Bangladeshis - want to?

Of course not. We are a poor country struggling with economic development and poverty reduction. We are not interested in wars or fighting. Nor do we have the vicious type of hatred for Indians or Hindus that Jamaatis do.

I do not like some of the policies of the New Delhi government, but I do not hate Indians, who as a people are more numerous than the whole of Europe and who are diverse including Gujaratis, Marathis, Keralans, Tamils etc. Indians themselves do not like some of the policies of New Delhi, so it is natural a Bangladeshi wouldn't.

However disagreeing with a governments policy is one thing, but hating a whole nation (Indians) and religious community (Hindus) as Jamaatis do is something else and not acceptable.

What we do seek with India is good regional co-operation and the resolution of all issues of conflict or disagreement between us.

What Pakistan, Jamaat e Islami, Saudi Arabia and defence.pk seek is hatred between Bangladesh and India.

I invite you to visit Dhaka or any other part of Bangladesh and see that you as an Indian will be respected by Bengalis who in general are a calm, gentle and hospitable people.

            September
            2014

            By Mizan Rahman/Dhaka
Banned Islamist militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JMB) was reportedly targeting Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with other VIPs in a bid to draw the attention of the international militant organisation Islamic State (IS) and jump-start its
            activities in the country.
To implement their plan, the JMB militants had already gathered large amounts of explosives and were reportedly waiting for an opportune moment to carry out the attacks.
The plans came to light after detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police held seven JMB members, including the outfit’s acting chief, from Ashulia landing station area in the early hours of Friday.
More than 10kg of explosive gel, four brass idols, books and leaflets preaching militancy were also recovered from their
            possession.
Without giving details on the type of the explosives gel, police sources said the material would have made powerful explosives once added with powdered brass.
Primary interrogation of the seven also revealed that the JMB had plans to snatch Ansarullah Bangla team chief Jashim Uddin Rahmani from police custody, in a manner similar to the previous snatching of three top JMB members in Mymensingh’s Trishal earlier this year.
The seven arrested JMB members are acting chief Abdullah Al Tasnim alias Nahid, 29; Nayem Ali, 28; Sikandar Ali alias Noki, 25; Mahmud Ibne Bashar, 23; Masum Billah, 26; Fuad Hasan, 18; and Ali Ahmed, 24.
The JMB acting chief – who faces at least 20 criminal cases – had arrest warrants issued against him as he had been evading court appearances since securing bail from a court in
            January.
In a press conference on Friday, Monirul Islam, joint commissioner of the Detective Branch, said the arrested JMB activists were planning attacks on different major targets including country’s VVIPs and VIPs.
Monirul did not mention the names of the targeted VVIPs, but Bangladesh has only two persons with the status President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The joint commissioner added that the JMB members had also admitted to targeting high-profile personalities in the hopes of drawing the attention of the IS through potential media
            coverage of the attacks.
The plan was also a part of an attempt to revive the JMB whose members were hiding in different parts of the country, he said.
With the help of telecom specialists Bashar and Noki – who were both arrested – acting JMB chief Tasnim had also allegedly tried to contact the IS through emails.
Detectives said Tasnim regularly received advice on how to run the JMB from JMB chief Saidur Rahman who is in jail.
“Establishing communication with the IS would have only been possible by causing large-scale destructive activities,” said Monirul.
Some of the JMB members had also collected passports as part of their plan to go to Syria and Iraq for joining the IS, he added.
Tasnim was also working to recruit meritorious students of public and private universities, the DB official said, adding that Bashar and Noki were working at field level to recruit potential members. Bashar is a student of Dhaka University and Noki is a student of North South
            University.

              1. Bangladesh is facing a threat from radical "Islamists" from different groups including the Pakistani-backed Jamaat e Islami and also JMB, Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh.

              2. These groups are not reflective of the general nature of Bangladeshis who are a calm, placid people and though religious are not naturally inclined to violent or militant expressions of religiousity.

              3. The mainstream religious scholars of Bangladesh including both Deobandis (Tableeghis) and Sufis are opposed to these extreme Pakistani-backed radical groups.

Bangladeshi Sufi group, Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat which condemns extremists such as the Jamaat e "Islami" terrorist organization.

Bangladeshi Sufis in Dhaka. Sufis in Bangladesh are opposed to the Jamaat e Islami terrorist organization.

              Sufis in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Bangladeshi Sufis. The Sufi scholars of Bangladesh are generally pro-Awami League (current centre-left ruling party) and are opposed to the Pakistani-backed Jamaat e Islami terrorist organization which enjoys the support of international "Islamist" terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda, the "Muslim" Brotherhood, TTP and other extremist organizations.

*** I pray that Allah protects the holy land of Muslim east Bengal from the forces of evil, and that Allah continues to bless us with peace and protects us from Pakistan, America, Turkey and Saudi Arabia ***
